Where is the Best Martini in Los Angeles, California?
This is a true BAR. It is for the true drinkers of the world who enjoy drinking till they fall off their stool. To add to the value of this bar, there is a really cheesy jukebox of every old song you have forgotten about or were too embassed to admit you ever liked. Oh, and the best part is that they open at like 6AM. You can crawl over there after all the after-hours.
My friend and I were looking for a fun place with no door drama, something with some spark, but where we could also talk, ya know? We’d never been to the Dresden and gave it a whirl last night. What a treat! Right away – the lot in the back is easy to park (and cheap!), the door staff was friendly, we were approached by a waitress in the bar who helped us find a little table (imagine that – proactive service!), and our waitress was attentive and friendly. She got a little overwhelmed i think when the place filled up around 11-midnight, but we were having fun so it was cool. The atmosphere is certainly enchanting and crowd was so mixed – everything from lively older couples to attractive singles to crowds of hipsters. Marty and Elayne are amazing & take requests!! 🙂 And some guest singers who popped up on stage were great too. Drink prices are also very reasonable – was surprised by how little the bill was. If you want a night out with some style and class, try the Dresden. Get there
I really like Fat Fish, especially considering there is sometimes parking around so I don’t have to give my car away to valet. The valet usually sets up on the side street right before the restaurant. The drinks are great and the crowd is young and trendy with your typical boho yuppie tinge. Great place for drinks with a group. I find the food is h*t or miss but have never been truly disappointed. I wouldn’t bring a first date here but it is a fine place to go with someone you are already involved with.Dip into the place next door for some blackberry cobbler dessert. The crowd there is old and the staff keeps their noses permanently upturned but the cobbler is worth ignoring them for.Pros + Great Place for Group Drinking and Tasty TreatsCons – It’s on Robertson and all that truly entails
Went there with a bunch of friends one day after work. Really fun atmosphere, and after a few drinks Nic took us back to the fridge. That of course got lots of laughs and actually quite a memorable experience. We put on furs, which to be honest i don’t normally do so that by itself was an experience, and then had some tastings back there. Its sets the right mood, and the appetizers we’ve had tasted even better afterwords. all in all, a great place to go with friends and/or co-workers. Pros + Fun in the freezerCons – I don’t look good in furs
