Where is the Best Martini in Dallas, Texas?
I live in the Legacy Village area, and I must say that when this club first opened, I frequented it regularly. I wanted to make this clear so people reading this can take my review seriously. This review wasn’t the result of one trip to Martini Park. Over the months, I have frequented the place less and less for reasons explained below.Overall, MP is not worth the trip, and I’ll try and be brief. Most drinks are $10.00. Now, I don’t mind paying for drinks, but the drinks that are made are ameaturish at best! Watered down, half full in the glass, the list goes on. The staff is very rude. Bouncers run the place like it’s a hole in the wall club. Ordering people around instead of talking to them like they are “upscale” (being courteous until it’s time not be works well)! The club looks nice, the music is suspect at best. What I mean is that they try and please everyone on every single night by playing a full genre of music. Again, not the behavior of a so-called “upscale” club. Bottom
Been to a lot of clubs/lounges throughout the country, I have seen snazzier, bigger places, but the atmosphere at candleroom is awesome. Not because of the place , but because of the people. (This is why a place stays in business over 1.5 years) The door guy Ali, is polite and courteous, not a muscle bound power hungary maniac. he is pretty fair in letting people on a first come basis regrdless of race or gender (unlike some places i know), sure the members get VIP service , but thats business, if you do not understand that, stay home and continue to watch reruns of “Freinds” Tommy D and Sean run a great place with a friendly staff. The only drawback is that i think it way too crowded on Saturday night, I say hold the line to let the folks enjoy themselves inside, or word of advise come early and avoid the lines. Prices are standard, DJ plays a mixture from top 40 , to classics, to songs everyone sings too. Good scene..an occasional celebrity or two on Wednsday/Saturday night. A
Brought good friends from out of town to Go Fish. This place was recommend and was my first time dining here. Arrived at scheduled reservation and seated prompty. The atmosphere was soothing and pleasing until our waitress came. We made corrections on our drink order (non-alcoholic) and was rudely recieved. Down hill from there! After the correction, the waitress still forgot the hot tea, we waited for 10 minutes and had to reask for the tea. She returned rudely to put down the hot tea, left our table and a different waiter came for the food order. The food tasted great. That saved the evening howerver I will not return to a place that I am not welcomed. The orginal rude waitress only came back to take our paycheck! I value my own personal guests when they are in town but this restaurant did not value me as a guest!
I believe I only had a really good time maybe once or twice out of the I would say four or five times that I have gone. I like that ladies are always free and the whole place is very nice but that would be about it for me. If you get there too late, you have to wait not in a line. Actually its not a line. Its a bunch of people crowded around the ropes and the door guy picks whoever he wants to come in. So to avoid that, I would recomend getting there before 10:30 especially if your black. Yea, I said it. I don’t really know but it sure does remind me of the movie knocked up. For all white people who saw that movie, it was funny what the door guy said, but in all honestly that is the real life truth. When they do that, best believe not many of US are getting in. So if your black, get there early. Also, there really isnt much room for a dance floor AND the drinks are waaaay too expensive. I asked for a long island and it was more like a watered down short island and the guy charges me 12
STAY AWAY! We went out, and 2 out of 4 of us were underage, so the bartender made them pay a 15 dollar cover each. I ordered a cosmopolitan, and it was this watered down, too much juice, mess. The hookahs were nice (but over priced, cheapest is 20 dollars, most are 35- 45 dollars). AND the bartender/waiter wouldnt replace the charcoal ( not an abnormal request- as anyone whose familiar with sheeshas would know) and said that we would have to buy another sheesha.By the way- this guy was an Azzhole the ENTIRE time, didnt know what was wrong with him. I was embarrassed at the poor service since I was the one who recommended the place. Then the true NIGHTMARE began. We wanted to pay the bill, and the bartender/waiter told us it was 120 dollars. We had 3 drinks, and 2 sheeshas. It was way too much, so when my friend gave the bartender his card, the bartender SAID it didnt go through, so we gave him cash. My friend then asked to see the charges and the bartender replied very rudely “Im sor
