Where is the Best Martini in Boston, Massachusetts?
I’ve been to Vox a few times and have only good things to say about my experiences there. The first few times I went were for parties – Vox is apparently very easy to schedule events with, because our class used to have events there each semester. They have two bars – upstairs and downstairs, and a great décor, though I guess you could argue it’s a little confusing to get to the bathrooms. It can also get cramped fast.In addition to our private parties I also attended Vox’s awesome Halloween party in 2009, which was a great time! One of the more affordable, fun Halloween parties going on that weekend. I’ve found the drinks to be good, the staff to be very professional, and the atmosphere to be a lot of fun. The bar touts their dozens of martinis, but they have a ton of drink options and I’ve ordered a few different drinks and never been disappointed.But this past week I went for the first time to actually eat something – their restaurant is running a promotion in February
Monday through Thursday from 5-7pm, Noir offers their food menu at prices ranging from $0-5. It’s amazingly easy to cobble together a meal from all the offerings. Drinks are pricier, mostly running over $10, but are well worth it for the combination of classics and unique seasonal libations. If you price it right, you can get out of Noir with dinner for under $20.The room itself is not particularly comfortable, but if you’re looking for a dark corner to enjoy your drinks in, you’ve found your place. The SceneUnlike most hotel bars, Bar 10 attracts an after-work crowd of professionals more likely to hail from offices next door than from out of town. The decor is understated, with furniture of sleek black wood and beige and tangerine velvet. Slatted window shades and heavy curtains block the light from outside; soft linen lampshades keep it perennially cocktail hour.The DrawBar 10 is the quickest way to feel like a visitor in your own city, with all of the intrigue that implies. If the ambience doesn’t do it, potent cocktails will have you chatting up your fellow wayfarer in no time. Must-try concoctions include the creme brulee martini (Stoli Vanil, Cointreau, Frangelico, creme anglaise) and the cheekily named flirtini (Chambourd and lime juice with a raspberry sugar rim).
