Where is the Best Martini in Austin, Texas?

There is a reason why this place gets crowded and the that reason would be the Spazmatics on Wednesday night! Other than the Spazmatics, the best bartender in Austin works here and his name would be Sanchez! Find him and you will never opt for another bartender ever. Just tell him what flavors you like and he’ll craft the perfect martini for you. Some of my favorite drinks (the ‘Marilyn Monroe’ and ‘Berry Shizzle’) were made up by him and can’t not walk down 4th street without stopping by to get one before the night is over! The atmosphere is chill on nights other than Wednesday. If you’re ever on 4th, don’t pass up this bar! Pros + Custom tailored martinis to your taste, chill on nights other than WednesdaysCons – Cougar night on Wednesday! Come early on Wed if you want a good seat

This is by far my favorite Trudy’s location. Although my favorite days to go are Wednesday and Thursday… decent amount of people but still prompt seating. I definitely stay away during the weekends… the wait can be an hour and half+ My favorite there is the stuffed avacado and the chorizo chicken. The mexican martini is good.. they have a pretty good sangria margarita. Oh and on your birthday you get a free margarita if you have your IDPros + unique food, good drinks, nice ambienceCons – service can be a nightmare on the weekends

Like the Oasis, you don’t go to the Iron Cactus for the food. You definitely go there for the ambience though. You can hear live music playing from across the street at the blind pig, great breeze, great weather, just a perfect location. They won’t seat you upstairs if you don’t plan on ordering food, so we usually just do appetizers and drinks (but make like we’re having dinner to the hostess, otherwise she may tell you to sit at the bar versus on the roof patio where the sights are). Really nothing I can recommend for food, but nothing terrible either. Nice place to bring all ages of out of town guests.Pros + Great locationCons – may have to fib to get on that rooftop people!

Took a friend there Saturday night, half expecting the place to be awesome and disappointing at the same time. Perfectly tucked away on 8th street, you could pass by it without even noticing if you’re not looking closely. Once inside though, we were thoroughly satisfied!! The atmosphere was inviting, the crowd MATURE and well-dressed, the music loud enough to hear, but not deafening. Our bartender, John, was perfect from the greeting upon reaching the bar til we closed out our tab. We tried the Manhattan, the Pomengrate Martini (perfectly yummy with a sugar-rimmed glass), and the Mango Martini. All of them were delicious!! I noticed some reviews complaining about high prices, but I have no complaints. I’ve lived in way bigger cities than Austin and have become accustomed to spending upwards of 10 or 12 bucks a drink and the Brown Bar prices are lower than that, so I don’t know, maybe it’s just me….I will definitely return!!Pros + Awesome martinis, great bartenders, mature crowdC

Just about everything about this place is nice. It’s clean, the staff are great, and the food is awesome.
