Where is the Best Luxury Hotel in Washington, District of Columbia?
The location was very convenient and included a free shuttle bus. I wouldn’t normally expect their rates to be in my price range so I don’t usually consider them when booking a hotel. After this stay I would consider staying at a Hyatt hotel since the rate was affordable and the room and service was what I would expect from the Hyatt name, but well above what I would expect from the hotels I usually use. This hotel made me feel extravagent: The room and amenities seemed more lavish and complete than I would have expected even from a Hyatt. Anything I wanted was already in place. I didn’t need to contact them for anything.
This hotel is what I would expect from the average Embassy Suites. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. The selection of TV channels is ok but I would add Science and SciFi channels. No religious channels, which places it well into the above-average TV category for me. They need to update the TV’s, though. The check-in was fast and friendly but they forgot the HHonors perk of the two free bottles of water in the fridge. I had to remind them the next day. They also don’t replenish the supply of front desk apples on a regular basis… getting one was more a matter of luck than anything else. There is plenty of free parking, and the Internet was free, which told me that the Alexandria Embassy Suites lied to me when they said $9.95/day was standard for their hotels. As compared to the Alexandria hotel, the bathroom was absolutely spotless. The breakfast buffet is very good, and the cooks are very friendly and accommodating. The omelets are much better here than at other Embassy Su
They do everything right. It’s amazing. They go out of their way to please their guests – especially repeat guests (i.e. They provided a plate of dried frut & nuts on my second visit). The bathrooms are solid marble. Beds are made of a featherbed layed on a very hard matress, but I found them comfortable. Rooms are very serene, quiet, well decorated, and well lit (and of course no harsh florescent lights like every other hotel these days). Of course the room svc menu is overpriced, but it offers some unique things. It is PERFECT for business travel. A great place to unwind after work – or keep working in a relaxed enviornment. I would stay here ANY time in the VA area.Pros + decor, beds, marble bath
