Don’t have the time for Broders’ Pasta Bar? Go to the Cucina! The food is a little less glamorous, but just as tasty. Try the super flat pizza or a manicotti (or two). I also like the caprese and their Pane Villaggio (village bread).It’s a deli so don’t expect more. You can get entrees, a side dish, bread, cheese, olives, salami, and drinks for two for less than twenty bucks. Not too shabby, especially when you see and taste the feast you just ordered.The food is good, but the air-conditioner is on full blast. If you go in the summer make sure to bring a layer because it will feel like a meat locker. Also, don’t go near closing and expect to eat there, they close up shop pretty fast and you end up feeling rushed.Pros + inexpensive, take-out, tasty!Cons – climate
All of the desserts here are delicious but the one that I must have everytime I’m in the neighborhood is the Vanilla Cheescake, its rich and creamy and topped with a sweet glazed jumbo strawberry! I’ve tried almost all assortments of pizzas, pastas, soups and lattes, its all “okay”, desserts are what keeps me coming back and prices are very affordable The only thing I hope they can improve on is the checkout, I wouldn’t exactly consider Caffe Latte a first time user-friendly place. After ordering your dessert on the pasta bar side, you have to wait for the people in front of you to go down that long pasta salad/soup bar (and most of them chit chat and think forever long about if they want something from the bar or not). Many friends that have gone in and said that the place is confusing because you don’t know where to start with placing your order. Broder’s delivers the perfect recipe for relaxation and flavor, but should consider the customer’s experience a little bit more.The ever circulating menu – though still wonderful – is recirculating upon itself a lot and it seems needs some new inspiration from the outside. That said (and in an impossible catch-22) don’t’ change a thing. Broder’s is the perfect summer evening retreat. The place is decent enough, but not fantastic. We stopped in for a couple of Irish coffees and some appetizers. The appetizers were so-so (fish tocos were good, but ribs were recycled), but the Irish coffees were the worst. It seemed a bit strange that the bartender had to “disappear” to make them – usually they build a drink in front of you so you can see what’s what. Not this time. He takes off to some cubby hole away from the bar and then returns: “Ta dah” – here they are: luke warm and – I swear – no whiskey. So we asked him about it in a nice way and in a nice way he gets us two more on the house. A nice gesture, but two times bad is not good, it’s just double bad. At first we thought maybe their mistaken opinion of Irish coffee might be using Baleys instead of Irish whiskey, but the drinks were too weak even for that.
