I went there for drinks and although the bar was busy, the bartender took time to make something special. I am not a big drinker so he asked me what flavors liked, how strong I would like the drink to be, and he came up with a great custom drink! What ever he made, I love it and have gone back a few times with friends to enjoy them. Great service, ask for Ben.Pros + serviceCons – none

I cannot begin to explain how wonderful Kafe 421 was for Valentine’s Day. I made a reservation for 7:30 for my date and I. We had a 10 minute wait for our table but there were literally no open tables in the restaurant. Despite our wait, the staff was very friendly and was genuinely concerned with getting us seated quickly and in the area we had requested. Since my date and I went on Valentine’s day the restaurant had a special menu featuring things like heart shaped crab cakes, and heart shaped ravioli. Also for Valentine’s day the restaurant brought in a musician to play acoustic guitar in the front part of dinning room. The guitar mixed with the subdued lighting and the fresh roses on the table made for an amazingly romantic experience. My date and I shared the crab cake appetizer which was amazing, and we split a bottle of the Angel Tears White wine (also very nice). For dinner my date had the shrimp santorini and I had the chicken fettuccini alfredo. The food was light, h

After reading an article in Delta’s Sky Mag, my boyfriend and I decided we needed to make a trip to Punch Pizza. One lazy Sunday afternoon (yesterday), we decided it was the perfect day for it. We inform the server that it was our first visit and she was very helpful in explaining the menu and how things at Punch work. She told us that their pizzas are make approx 10 inches and couples will generally order a salad or Antipasti along with the pizza, if the plan is to share the pizza. We ordered the Artichoke Dip along with the Vesuvio pizza, both to share. The artichoke dip had EXCELLENT flavor and lots of big chunks of artichoke, something commonly missing from most restaurants version of this dish. I think our conversation went something like this: ‘If this is any indication of what the pizza will be like… I have high hopes!’Once the pizza arrived we both dug right in! Slowly chewing and taking in all the flavors of this pie we exchange looks and decide we made a good dec

I have been going to Jax Cafe in Beautiful Nordeast Minneapolis since 1965. Over the years I have had club and business meetings, and business and personal lunches/dinners/brunches at Jax. I had my retirement party in the Cosmopolitan Room in 2002 with 150 guests. My church celebrated our 90th Anniversary with a dinner for 255 happy guests. I continue to see past business associates, who I previously introduced to Jax, coming in to entertain their current business contacts and to enjoy their own personal and family celebrations. The pianist plays my favorite song, “My Way” by Frank Sinatra. That’s what I always receive at Jax is, “My Way”. The food is of the highest quality, the service is excellent and friendly, and the managerial staff is always congenial and professional.

A quick review of all reviews will show that happy hour is what this place is about so going there for lunch, I did not expect fireworks. The salmon nicoise salad had unrealized possibilities. Service…
