Where is the Best Lunch Spot in Houston, Texas?
I come here at least once a week to enjoy this great place. The food is simply delicious. I’m working my way around the menu and I haven’t found anything I didn’t like. I just discovered the Rice Sheets. These things are awesome. Will be coming back. Heard a Washington spot is opening up. Can’t wait since I live around the corner. Downtown for lunch, Washington for dinner. Perfection!
Being a native New Yorker living in Houston, the one thing I consistently found myself missing was an Italian pastry shop. I grew up with rainbow cookies, black & whites, sfogliatelle, cannolis, macaroons…all sorts of wonderful desserts that just don’t seem to be offered down here in Houston (in spite of a large NY metro transplant crowd). Then I found Drew’s Pastry Place and it brought back memories of my childhood. His pastries and cookies are absolutely amazing (he just started making my favorite, rainbow cookies, and is perfecting his black & whites as we speak) and when I came in for the first time today he personally came out to greet me. It is an amazing family business with superb offerings. Not only does he do the cookies and pastries, he also does cakes (including wedding), pies, there is gelato available, all sorts of coffee and tea, and now a lunch hour as well with pizza and other things. My only gripe is that I live in Katy and he is located up on 249 and Louetta…but
I am a huge fan of the Martinique burger. Rarely can you find something so delicious that isn’t either completely overcooked or dripping with fat and oil. The sauteed mushrooms and onions make my stomach sing hallelujah! My hat’s off to he Hobbit Cafe for knowing how to do right by this once in a while burger eater. Some people can’t have a burger without fries, I see the shredded carrots as a welcomed change from the norm. I wash down my wonderful meal with a fresh fruit smoothee. My favorites are the Strawberry Kiwi and the Pina Colada. Sitting on the patio, I enjoy the weather before it gets too hot and before the mosquito’s start coming around in earnest. Definitely a wonderful place, that is, if you can find somewhere to park.Pros + Delicous foodCons – Scarse parking
I went to a wedding reception at Slainte’s several months back & had a great time. Was very surprised to read so many reviews about them having such terribly rude staff. My experience there was nothing the like. Food was good. Music was outstanding. The outside balcony upstairs has an absolutely fantastic view. The decorum was clean & authentic. Nice art work. Close parking was available. Enjoyed it very much.
To start this review I must say that I am very picky when it comes to dining and very hard to please. A friend and I stopped into Khun Noi Thai Cafe for lunch last week, and I have to say I was very impressed. As soon as we entered this wonderful gem we were greeted with warm hospitality and treated like family. This family owned restaurant knows what they are doing when it comes to Thai cuisine, but they do not stop there. Their Peppercorn Tuna Sushi is the best I have ever had!!! I will definitely return to this wonderful restaurant because there are so many more dishes I just have to try. Thanks Khun Noi for a fabulous dining experience!!!Pros + Great Food – 2 Thumbs Up
