Where is the Best Lunch Spot in Dallas, Texas?
This resturant is off the beaten path but if you are in the neighborhood it is worth the walk. They are only open for lunch and have a limited menu. They mainly serve sandwitches, fruit, and soup. The chicken salad is out of this world. The fresh fruit and poppy seed dressing is always delicious, no matter what time of year it is and the soup of the day is top notch as well. I have eaten there many times and have never had a bad experience. So if you want a light lunch like a fruit and sandwitch plate, Then the Lunch Box is that place.Pros + Food is goodCons – Food is pricey
When you walk in the door you get the feeling you just walked through the lower East side of New York City. It’s not that corporate chain environment where everything is the same every time you come in. You start learning the names of the servers, deli guys, and even the owner by the end of your meal. Nothing is better then Chicken Barley soup and the full hot corned beef sandwich on fresh rye bread. You may want to take half home for latter because they have so many cakes and cookies for dessert. Great for Lunch or Dinner, and we defiantly have them in our monthly rotation for office work meetings. A+Pros + Corned Beef, Service, Portion Size
I concur : THE BEST FRENCH DIP that I have ever eaten anywhere. It’s served on a toasted soft sub roll with fresh baked Prime Rib piled high on it (whatever color that you prefer) and steaming hot Au Jus to dip in. The whole thing comes with a choice of soup or salad, fresh home baked breads, and a lovely strawberry dipped in rich dark chocolate! It’s a wonderful feast even for my hearty appetite. My wife actually found this little place first, when she was looking for a nice quiet place to have “afternoon high tea with her girlfriends”. They were getting very tired of the “not so service-people and extremely high prices” that they encountered elsewhere (like a hotel that starts with an ‘A’) where they were usually having tea at downtown, so she looked around to see where else in town served High Tea. She found several including Eden. They started meeting for tea at a new place each week, but were finding very mediocre food and service with high prices, UNTIL they found Eden! She
I am not surprised to see another bad review about To Go orders. We are regular customers at Mayuri and they did accept our catering order (to be picked up) for about 13 people. The food was to be picked up at sharp 11 am for an office party. I confirmed this with the manage/owner when I personally went there to place the order, so no telephone conversation confusions…I even asked if I needed to call to remind them on the day of the pick-up, they said no need. I still called at 10.45, no body there was even aware of my order, I kept calling and finally went there at 11.15 to see what’s happening. After waiting for another 15 min, finally I got the food. What surprised (?) me the most was that the owner/manager did not even have the curtsey to come out and apologies, forget about offering any discount on the cash only payment! He would not even talk to me even when I specifically asked to talk to him. Needless to say, I was highly embarrassed to be late to the party and keep e
I’ve been trying to make it out to this little Dutch pub I heard so much about for the last two months and I’m glad I finally did. Some friends and I decided to visit Rembrandt’s before going to the House of Blues for a concert (I read the cafe had free parking!). I was pleasantly surprised when we walked into the place on a Saturday night. Immediately the atmosphere felt inviting and welcoming. The place was a lot bigger than I expected, yet it felt cozy. We sat at the bar where the bartender made a suggestion to try one of the European beers they have on tap. They have a great selection of beers, wines and liquor, including Absinthe with the actual “worm wood”. The bartender poured me one using the traditional method which includes a slotted spoon and a sugar cube. Then I proceeded to ask what he would recommend on the menu. Following his suggestion I ordered the seafood chowder (home made) and had the Dutch burger as entree. My friends ordered the tenderloin and fish and chips. Th
