Where is the Best Lounge in Seattle, Washington?
We went to Heaven on a Friday night. Parking is a little awkward, but it’s Poineer Square and that’s expected. The Door Guy was cordial if not friendly, and we were into the club in less than a minute. Be careful on the stairs… especially if you’ve already been drinking. The club is really cool, with a lobby, restrooms, and coat check before you walk into the main dance/bar area. We were barhopping, so restrooms near the entrance were a big help, and WOW! Those are great restrooms. I thought the guys restroom was great and the girls seemed even more impressed than me. We finally got into the main room and to the bar. Service was quick, drinks were tasty and eventually we got to the dancefloor. THe music was a kinda old school radio hip hop and new top 40/R&B dance mix. It was good… our girls were happy. The crowd was really diverse and there were some SMOKIN’ hot chickas there. We stayed most of the rest of the night before headed off for last call to a place that stayed open late
The security guards and cashier were very friendly and funny! I was super impressed that the bar is SMOKE FREE! The music was good (different blend of alternative/electronic genres). I enjoyed the ambience and crowd, and drinks were reasonably priced. The cover charge was $6 the first time I went on a Friday night, and $7 the second time on a Saturday night; I think those prices are a little steep for a Seattle bar, but I think it’s worth it since it’s smoke-free. The venue itself is a bit small, and there is little seaing inside. The bar and restrooms are clean, outdoor patio is spacious. Overall I recommend this club, and I’m definitely drawn to it because it’s SMOKE FREE! I hope other bars/clubs in Seattle pick up on this trend as many people like me are willing to pay a little extra for it.Pros + Smoke-Free Venue, Friendly Staff, Great variety of musiCons – , No parking, Lack of seating
Ill make this short, sweet and to the point-as I am not a restaurant connoisseur and am not much for the happy hour scene. It was new years and a large group of friends-myself included were headed to amber. Love the look of the place-large enough for a new year?s party with an appeal of a quiet night for a drink. Everything seemed to be running smoothly, however the staff is clearly under-trained, unprofessional and poorly managed. I gave my coat to the woman manning the coat check (who I later found out later was equally as drunk as fellow new year?s party goers behind the hostess stand) and she handed me a number. Cool that it was complimentary to the guests. When I went back to the “coat check” there was no one responsible behind the counter. Bottom line, I had the number that she gave me with NO coats on the hangers at 1:15am. I would have rather have paid to know that my coat was going to be there when I was ready to leave. The place was a zoo, the bouncers seem to be ove
I recently went to Licorous after reading many raving reviews. So,I was really looking forward to my experience. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. We ordered some cocktails, after our waitress slammed 4 water glasses on the table: reminicent of a German brew hall. Our drinks came promptly and all the guests were very happy with their choices. We ordered pairings, but only one of us got our with our drinks. The other pairings came at scattered times, one got their pairing after she had already finished her drink. We all ordered food and these too came at scattered times: which was not made known to us: my friends weren’t sharing that night. One guest didn’t get his meal until 40 minutes after I got mine! very strange, indeed. Regardless of the waiting time, the food was mediocre, if not bad. I ordered mushrooms and they were salty and greasy: the two tuna plates, again too much salt. The mussels were fantastic though: very plump and juicy. The pear dessert is to die for as are the fina
While visiting friends in Seattle last month (I’m from Berkeley, CA) they invited me out to The Sitting Room in lower Queen Anne. We enjoyed the festive atmosphere and delicious appetizers so much on Saturday night we decided to go back again on Monday. This was such a great little place I thought I should help spread the word.On Saturday, the first thing I noticed was the charming owner, who greeted us at the door and promptly found us a clean table in front. The place was beginning to fill up but his friendly manor seemed to foretell the kind of evening we were to have. Our handsome young waiter patiently answered our questions on the unique small plates menu and he soon filled our table with cocktails (I loved the gin drink with fresh thyme) and tasty dishes that more than satisfied (chorizo with blue cheese & dates, cold-smoked wild salmon, and pate made with free-range nitrate-free pork). The other patrons were obviously having a great time too so the infectious spirit carried
