Where is the Best Live Music Venue in St. Louis, Missouri?
This place has an excellent atmosphere, and it’s a great place if you are single. There’s always plenty of good music to dance to. And you will NEVER dance by yourself. The staff is great and the drinks are stiff. AND YOU NEVER GO HOME ALONE!!!!!!!!!Pros + Cheap drinks. Plenty of girls.Cons – Too many college kids.
The Way Out Club is one of my all-time favorite St. Louis nightclubs. Bob and Sherri are wonderful. The ambience is brilliant and they book some of the best bands in St. Louis. Oh, and they have really good pizza, too. BUT, if it’s crowded be prepared to wait a LONG time to get served at the bar. Also, they could really use a better sound system. Great bands deserve to be heard better! Also, the neighborhood surrounding the club is definitely rough and the history of vandalism should not be overlooked, so be sure to park at the Fuelman across the street (don’t block the pumps, though) or in the lot at Hardee’s, or along Jefferson. Do NOT park on the side streets… to do so is asking for trouble.Pros + Great ambience, Great bands, Friendly placeCons – Rough neighborhood, Poor sound system, No ad in the RFT?
The Oyster bar has great Creole food and usually some good music, but it is never on my radar. Perhaps because it is all the way downtown. That’s no excuse though because I live in the city. The service is always a little slow when I have been there, and that is horrible when you are waiting for your fried alligator and jambalaya. The patio is nice, especially if it starts to rain because it is covered. The next time it pops into my head as a place to grab dinner and a couple drinks I’ll be there. A heads up, if you get there a little later, chances are that you will have to pay a cover for the band that is playing.
10-25-08 – ROCKtoberfest. We couldn’t park in the lot across the street because of the stage and booths set up, but that was the only difficulty all day. We went in before they were open and took pictures of the BEAUTIFUL bar (Tiger Walnut? and stained glass). They let us wander then told us when they opened so we could come back and buy T-shirts. When we came back the bartenders were preparing for the night but we got personalized service from Nick…. who makes the BEST Naughty Redheads! (imagine that..he’s a redhead) He asked us to come back and see the place at full swing for the evening, but we were going to the Blues game. He assured us that we would have a great time. After the game we went back and the place was PACKED, but after getting a few drinks and finding a place to rest…..we were entertained, by both the pianists and the crowd. 3 bachlorette parties, birthday parties and tons of people having a great time. Nick, Brad and Jeff – took great care of us all day. We will
