Where is the Best Live Music Venue in Salt Lake City, Utah?
Although it could be a bit more spacious and redone (the cement floors are cracking due to wear and tear), its a pretty good joint. Friday nights are Gay/Lesbian night (also known as Gossip). Me and most of my friends are straight and we honestly have a better time on Fridays!!! Nova Starr is hilarious and the drag shows are fun to watch. They put a lot of effort into their dance routines. As far as music, I’ve only been Friday and Saturdays so, Fridays are a lot of top 40’s Pop/Rock and some dance mixes, Saturdays are mainly techno, house, electronica, hardcore techno, trance ect. They have some pretty good Dj’s that keep the vibe going. The 21+ areas (bar, upstairs and upstairs outdoor patio that overlooks SLC) have always been nice places to chill out and relax after dancing and the drinks are great!!! There is a small bar in the back of the club for the under-age clubbers to grab water, sodas and glowsticks!!! The double dance floors are great and the back is the main place for peo
We are regulars at the Bayou and absolutely love Michelle. Whenever we come in, she remebers our favorite drinks and what we like to eat…great customer service. Food is good, beer is good and the bar has good mixed drinks. HOWEVER…my last visit to the Bayou was AWFUL! My waitress (Kim?) told me if I wanted a mixed drink I needed to tell the bartender. Are you kidding me? MY WAITRESS TOLD ME TO GO TO THE BARTENDER FOR SERVICE!! Ok besides one bad experience the place is great. Just ask for Michelle.Pros + Michelle, Sweet Potato FriesCons – Service can lack
That pretty well sums it up. The times I’ve been to the Tavernacle it has seemed that they do not have enough staff to keep up with a busy crowd. Then the self destructing monster happens. Patrons go to the bar to get their drinks which ties up the bartenders which slows down the waitresses which makes more customers to to the bar and so it goes. The wait was occassionally 10-15 minutes from ordering a drink to getting it.The dueling pianos are great and they have good food but the service has never been impressive.Pros + Good Food, Good ShowCons – Slow Service
The sound system is amazing at the depot. This place gives Salt Lake a big city feel. I have seen a few shows there and it is the kind of place that makes my decision about what to do at night wasy. The venue is friendly and clean. Many big cities like LA and NEw york have this kind of place. It is amazing that we have one in Salt Lake as well. I hear they do banquets as well through their restaurant, Butterfly as well. THis place is really cool.Pros + sound system, intimateCons – more bands
So, I like the 1/2 price deal, and love the scene. The acoustic jazz band gets 5 stars for sure. They were amazing. But the food gets a 3 (For the rolls only, the Miso was terrible), and service gets a 1. It took me over an hour to get my first sushi roll. They never refilled my drink the whole 3 hours I was there. And no, I would not have been there that long if it weren’t for me having to wait for getting everything I ordered. At the very end when my waitress gave me my check she blamed it on the systems being down. I can understand a delay, but over an hour to roll up some fish is ridiculous. It was not even close to being busy. The waitress did not seem to really be with it either as she forgot my second roll. I had to go to the back and talk to her and the chef about getting it after ANOTHER hour. I couldn’t really enjoy my Miso, so thankfully they took that off my tab. I really do want to give the place another chance with the saving grace of the band and 1/2 price deal, but they
