Where is the Best Live Music Venue in New Orleans, Louisiana?
I took my fiance here for his birthday based on some great reviews on this site. The tapas menu looked impressive, so we both tried several small plates instead of one entree. The waiter, who was speaking WAY too loud considering the place was almost empty, pointed out several times that we had JUST ordered APPETIZERS and HADN’T ordered entrees. He was very rude and not at all attentive to the things he should have noticed, like that he brought us a salad but not forks. He didn’t check back so after almost 5 minutes we had to go find him. Despite the service, the food was excellent and the drinks were generously poured.
This is truly a hidden gem in New Orleans. It’s actually just across the city line, but it feels like it’s part of uptown. The drinks are CHEAP and strong, the bands are great and the Hall where the bands play is amazing. There are some good looking bar tenders who can make anything. The best is the live music on the deck facing River Road usually fridays and saturdays. All in all, it’s rapidly becoming my favorite place to see a show.Pros + Inexpensive, easy parking, nice staff
Uptown, Downtown (on Decatur) and all around during certain Jazz Fests, the original and still the best is the uptown location on the corner of Tchoupitoulas and Napoleon. If you dont want to pay the cover, you can hang out on the median and smoke with the poor college students. Anything goes inside. A landmark musical venue with a statue of Professor Longhair. Nearby Superstore (for drinks if waiting outside) makes life even easier in the Big Easy.Pros + Music Acts, Authentic experience
