Where is the Best Live Music Venue in Cincinnati, Ohio?
My husband and I tried Chez Nora recently and I must say I was disappointed. We went after 3:00 yet before 5:00 so we were limited to sandwiches and salads. The prices were steep and didn’t align with the food. The food didn’t taste fresh, therefore, I picked over my food, basically wasting the majority of it. I then went on to take another chance and tried the desert and much to my surprise, the desert was worst than the food. I was upset at how much we spent on our meal and yet was so extremely dissatisfied with the experience. It was our first time eating at Chez Nora and I’m pretty sure it will be our last time.The service was the most decent thing we experienced. It wasn’t A -1 service but it wasn’t that bad either.I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone I know.Cons – Limited parking, pricey menu, food didn’t taste fresh
this jazz club has a very relaxing atmosphere. it’s true there isn’t much furniture just tables and chairs but over all the place serves its purpose. the house band is very good with instruments like bass, drums, saxophone, piano, all very into their music. it’s a great place to hang out with friends and listen to the band… but it’s not much a place for conversation. the cover charge is usually six bucks which isn’t bad if you go for a while. expect nothing and you may end up really likeing the place!Pros + good music, relaxingCons – can’t talk
The legendary Historic Southgate House is one if not the best venue in the region. Its an old mansion converted into 3 seperate music venues. The house was home to Richard Southgate who’s grandson is the inventer of the “Tommy Gunn” General Thompson who actually was born in the house…i am responding to the “shitty experience” below. I am the person who had the unfortunate duty to eject two young ladies who were minors drinking alcohol. It is illegal to drink under the age of 21 and is a major violation to our liquor liscense for it to happen. Its the most important rule at our venue that we take very seriously, not only is it against the law, we would be shut down for a month and we would have to lay off employees and cancel shows, common sense if you stop to think about it. Boy, if you want an “old coots bar” that tried to boost it’s sagging revenue from barely-employed West Side potheads by replacing the jukebox with a “stage”, then HOO-BOY, is this the place for you! All the cheap Schlitz you can drink and free peanuts you can fish out of the overflowing ashtrays. “Prizoner” is long gone over to the East Side, but a nifty new band of losers called “Denial” will rock this tiny little world every night. Perfect name for a Delhi band- Don’t think about the life you lost by storming out of Diamond Oaks, tires squealing, so you could prove yer mettle by displaying that buck knife sheath around this place and other splendid local DIVES. Like the Dog Haus, Main Entrance, Club Octane, etc… Maybe my goatee, shaved head, dirty “West Side Choppers” sweatshirt and rusty Honda Civic will get me lucky tonight… But, I doubt it.Pros + Short drive when drunkCons – Hasn’t changed in 20 years
