Where is the Best Late-Night Dining in Seattle, Washington?
My boyfriend and I have been going to the Coins for a very long time and it has always been our favorite for late night dining. We go there mostly for the chef’s counter show which can be amazing and so much fun! It’s great to watch the chefs at work and the interaction between staff and customers makes it an experience that you won’t find at many other venues. Quite often if you don’t want the side dishes that are offered with the entree they will substitute for you. We love having somewhere cozy to go late at night and the free parking is a real bonus. I don’t really like to sit anywhere but the chef’s counter and will wait for it. Something else that I find a plus is you never know who might be eating there. One time when we were there we spoke with Elliot Gould who was dining there after the theatre. Everywhere I am seeing restaurants create new deals. Even on a recent visit to Las Vegas, I was surprised to see high end restaurants creating affordable “tasting menus” or 3 course meal deals so people would venture out from cheap buffets to restaurants like Fix and Bellagio, and Barlotta at the Wynn. So imagine my surprise (and disappointment) to see a change to one of my favorite happy hour menus. Where is my pizza with fig and ham, my delectable steak frites that I eat only with my fork, and dream about later? Yes you have still given me a steak sandwich and lamb burger, and even kept the price. But I’m longing for more than the dozen items that you now offer, longing for the happy hour that once offered me a plethora of choices to stimulate the taste buds in my palate. It was a place where I could take me foodie friends as well as my less adventurous friends. I’m not saying I won’t visit you anymore, I’m not even mad at you, because at least the food you had is still wonderful!
Went ot Beth’s for dinner on Friday night. No wait, everyone was friends and got seated right away. Service was fast and our waitress never let the coffee run out, even fixed juke box when it ate coins and didnt deliver. Bathroom was interesting, but all the talk I’d heard about it being not clean in Beth’s were wrong as far as I could see. Lots of drawings on walls, that was fun. Lots of different types of people, what you want when you visit the big city.Pros + Great service, hot food and lots of itCons – parking would be difficult at time
First of all for all the critics of getting good service at any 24 hour joint in city…SHUT IT!! If you came to this place to eat then expect to be there a little bit. You have a cafe with a staff that is open 24 hours a day and putting up with a different variety of customers on all levels. I have been to the 5 point on numerous occasions and my experience there was GREAT…..because I came there for one purpose…to eat some comfort food! I wasn’t expecting the best service at all…even the best food….but when I want to enjoy a belly filling meal…that is the place to go.I gave a rating of 4/5 because I do enjoy great service….but this is not the reason why I go to the 5 point. I go cause if I want to eat a big breakfast anytime of the day they have the best meal for your buck! If you want posh service go eat at Salties on Alki!! Get over the service there people….its not there to comfort your feelings!Pros + Great hangover and comfort food in Belltown areaCons
