Where is the Best Late-Night Dining in Portland, Oregon?
Food is greesy and good. Coffee is bad—I often bring a cup of Peet’s. Omeletts and burgers are very good. Ask them to toast the bun on the griddle. You won’t get a burger like this at Mickey Dees! And you can watch them being made. Service is as fast as they can do it—depends upon how many folks have ordered ahead of you. Bacon and hashbrowns are fine. We’ve been meeting there every Saturday night since 1989—so it must be good, huh? We are a bunch of adult amateur radio users and go early in the evening before the young folks fill the place around midnight. Oh, I didn’t mention the hotcakes. They are gooey and wonderful. Real butter, homemade syrup. And they are big. Pros + Hotcakes, Burgers, Omletts.Cons – Coffee
wow. I can’t believe someone would go on one of these things to justify not tipping their waitress because he had to use the atm. That’s the biggest bunch of b.s. i’ve ever heard. They just work there, it’s not their fault that they don’t take cards and if you know that, why not just bring cash? oh yeah, because you’re so spineless you need an excuse not to tip. wow. i bet you get a lot of dates with that kind of class!anyway, though, I do love dots. It will be interesting to see what’s going to happen after the smoking ban. I think it will be a lot more pleasant to be in. I smoke and still get grossed out. unless you know someone. i was at slow bar with a friend and we were ignored and then curtly dealt with by the waitress….until the owner came to talk with us because he is friends with my friend. then she treated us like gold. it was unbelievable. since then, the service is always horrible. i guess i should only go there with my cool friend…but they have an amazing burger, so it is worth the needlessly rude servers.
