Where is the Best Late-Night Dining in Chicago, Illinois?
The biggest problem with DLR are the first time patrons that do not have a clue what the place is about. We have been there many times and had a geat time. It can get a little rude from time to time but the waitstaff does a good job on figuring out how your group is to be treated. We have been there with our grandkids and they have been very helpfull. Other times we where there as an adult group, drinking and dancing and they treated us rudely and it was fantastic! We enjoy all types of places and the Last Resort is a fun place with better than average food.Their burboun glazed salmon is some of the best I have ever had!Go there with an open mind and you’ll have a great time.Pros + Close to everything and above average bar food.Cons – Can be boring at times, depending on the crowd.
I’ve been going here for 2 years, and other than an 8 month stretch with a marginal chef (all fixed now), it’s a weekly event.Generous martini’s, attentive staff that remembers your name, your drink, good food… The fish and chips are a must if they’re on special.It’s a great haunt on Monday night when most other places are closed, and the kitchen is open late most nights. Attracts a great crowd. Weekend nights can get crowded or noisy.Overall, it’s a friendly, comfortable place, and while not cheap, it’s a good value. Your martini may cost $11, but it come in a glass big enough to make any drag queen’s hands look small! There were some allegations sent out on January 8,2008 via e-mail regarding food catered by Nuevo Leon Restaurant. Nuevo Leon Restaurant is a well respected family business located at 1515 w. 18Th Street.It has been in business for over forty- six years(1962).Over the years,the restaurant has served,and maintained thousands of satisfied customers,many of them have been coming to the restaurant for years and some of them come on daily basis.Our employees are also exceptional. Nuevo Leon Restaurant was accused of catering contaminated food for twenty-five people on November 17,2007 from which fourteen people supposedly got sick .There werenever any samples taken or any reports from doctors or hospitals of anyone being admitted for bad food from such event. Our restaurant was never closed for business for this allegation. On November 17,2007 we had other catering orders with the exact type of food and no one came back with a complaint.
