I have been to Golden Temple on several occasions and I have had a variety of experiences. The waitstaff, hosts, and bartenders are always courteous, but they (with a few exceptions) are not overly warm. Quite frankly, though, I prefer good service with less personality than bad service with more personality so this is a plus for me. I can see from other reviews that, understandably, it is not a plus for everyone. The restaurant is immaculate, the restrooms are clean, and the food and beverages are consistent. No matter how many times you order one dish, it will taste the same, be presented the same way, and will come with the same sauces. I love their mai tai. There are very few places where you can get a real mai tai, and so, surprisingly few people know what a real mai tai is. A real mai tai consists of two types of rum, orange curacao, and orgeat syrup. It should be served in a double old-fashioned glass over crushed ice. The drink was created by Trader Vic Bergeron, an

I used to come to Silvertone’s all the time when I lived in Beacon Hill. It’s a little hard to find at first, since it’s in the basement. When you do discover it, you realize how much you like the cocktails and the food. It’s not fancy but consistent and a good way to get something in your stomach especially when you are bar hopping on a weekend or even after work. Location cant be beat. My only complaint is that it can and does get quite loud and the waitstaff are ofter stretched thin when they get full. Which is often! Pros + Great drinks and foodCons – hard to find, loud, busy

A quintessential Boston dining experience is to get a roast beef sandwich with all the trimmings, a chowder and some fries and head across the street and dine out on the outdoor dining patio next to the beach. And to curious visitors to Boston, this is not your typical fast food “roast beef”. This is fresh from the oven, just sliced and juicy meat. Forget your diet and get it with gravy for the full experience. There are several other Boston locations but the beach location is by far the most fun. Pros + Real Roast Beef; Clam Chowder; Great Beach Location

I went to Gargoyles with my girlfriend on a Saturday night and neglected to recognize that Boston’s Restaurant Week was in full swing. The place was very crowded and although we had a reservation for 8 pm, we weren’t seated until 8:30. We passed the time with cocktails and had to stand in a very crowded bar area that overlapped with a dining area. The hostess seemed incredibly flighty and naive to the preferences of a more expensive restaurant’s clientele. I heard another patron complain very vociferously about the rudeness of the maitre d’.Once seated, we were thrilled with the menu and choices. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive without being over-bearing. For appetizers we had baked figs and the tuna poke which were both great. The figs may have been a bit too filling for a first course but this was forgivable because of the flavors. The tuna was excellent with simple flavors that accompanied each other extremely well without creating an overwhelming effect; a strong first
