Where is the Best Korean Food in New York, New York?
We went for a friend’s birthday with 5 people. The table was cramped but it worked better because we were all sharing food. The chilean sea bass, the pork and the dumplings were all delicous. Try the So-Yo specialty cocktail. It’s made with potato vodka and some yogurt drink that is popular is Korea. I wish they sold it everywhere because it was incredibly yummy.The staff were all friendly and willing to explain different menu items to us. We sat at the bar while we waited for our table to bet set up and the bartender kept us entertained with conversation.I’m not sure this will be my new favorite but it’s definitely worth a couple of visits.Pros + friendly staff, yummy cocktails
I’m a born and raised New Yorker and have tried tons of different kinds of food in my lifetime. I’ve always loved Korean food and have eaten at all different Korean restaurants in the tri state area. I’ve had Korean food in Flushing, Long Island, New Jersey and Manhattan. What makes Do Hwa stand apart is the food and atmosphere. I’m a big believer in authentic cuisine and the food in Do Hwa is just that. The Gal Bi is amazing because its marinated to perfection with just the right blend of seasoning and when grilled on a steel grill, it’s even better. That’s just one of my faves. The Kimchi Pajun (kimchi pancake) , Dduk Boki (spicy rice cakes), and Sewoo Tigim (fried butterfly shrimp) are my favorite appetizers. They also have a great drink menu. The atmosphere and decor of Do Hwa make it a trendy downtown spot with an old school feel. I had heard about the all you can eat bbq and decided to check it out. Myself and another patron ate 3 huge plates filled with meat and veggies. THe waitresses were so attentive and offered to bring out more food as soon as they saw that the plate was emptying. The food was fresh adn well flavored!
