Where is the Best Korean Food in Chicago, Illinois?
Everything that I experienced with Orange was so great! The food was delicious( try spicy chicken), people were beautiful, most of all, the service was excellent! Waitresses were so cute, if you want a little chat with them, don’t sit at the bar! The bar is extremely busy, so they can’t really talk to people at the bar. Try to get a table and have good time 🙂
Well this was a first for me a trendy Korean restaurant. At first I was skeptical. When you first step in the dark and modern decor makes you think you just stepped into a very cool lounge. Seeing everyone with martini glasses strengthens that thought. But after further inspection there are people eating some nice looking dishes Many asians will probably tell you that they are skeptical of asian restaurants that dont have asian patrons or staff luckily we saw a couple of each it took us a few minutes to spot though. The selection and prices on the menu are actually quite good for this level of trendiness. To my surprise the dishes were good sizes and tasted good too. The service was also very good and friendly. It really books up so call ahead and try to make a reservation if you can. Definitely check this place out if you need a datespot for very presentable Korean food or if you want to ease someone into Korean food.
Being half korean, I grew up eating great korean food. This restaurant reminds me of my childhood and all the time I spent in the kitchen with my korean mom. The wonderful smell when you step into the door draws you in and the sight of food being cooked on the tables makes it feel like real homemade cooking. The quick delivery of your order is great if you are using the table barbecue. Otherwise, there is a longer wait for your order, but it is definitely worth the wait. The atmosphere makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a space warp and landed in South Korea. Listening to the native tongues of the employees as they converse with each other is interesting and the english spoken by the waitstaff is fabulous. I would recommend this restaurant to my mom who is picky about where she gets her korean food. This is a great restaurant!Pros + ambience, food, kid friendlyCons – lack of space, hotter dining area than average(use take out for summer)
I’ve been to almost every Korean restaurant. Woo Lae Oak is by far the best in the Chicagoland area. The main and side dishes are prepared professionally by people who not only concern themselves with taste, but artistry. At Woo Lae Oak, the ingredients are always fresh. Wheather I’ve been there for lunch or dinner, week day or weekend, alone or in a large group setting, I’ve always been pleased. There was 1 time I found the service a little slow, but I think they were just especially busy. I want to point out the warm inviting atmosphere. One big turn off for most Korean restaurants I’ve been to is the lack of attention to the conditions of the bathroom. At Woo Lae Oak, I found the bathroom facilies, clean, bright, and quite large (even has a sitting area) in the womens’ room. I always look for opportunities to stop by when I can. They used to be located on Hubbard St. downtown. Too bad, they left the city. Otherwise, I would be there at least 2 times a week!Pros + cl
