Where is the Best Karaoke in Seattle, Washington?
I just went to this sort of hyped-up bar for the first time recently. Unlike many of the other reviewers, our service was good. The vibe at the place was cool, fairly chill. I like it when bars aren’t too brightly-lit, so that was nice. The food was average, not that great, but it was a decent place to drink.
Apparently this place has been there for years, but somehow remains hidden in plain sight. I love that it is part of the seattle underground and so close to parking underneath the viaduct. There is something great about being able to go down beneath the street to a darkened room that sells martinis, gives off kind of a speakeasy feel. I love all the fishtanks too. But mostly I love that you can look up from the bar and see outside onto the street. Live music can be loud and make talking difficult, but happy hour food and prices make this easily overlookable. I am in love with the tapenade, perhaps the best I have ever had. Something I can’t quite place puts it a step above the rest. I also enjoy the spicy rigatoni with capers. LIttle couched off areas give a better feeling of intimacy than other similar establishments. Only 4 beers on tap, but I guess that’s because its a martini bar and best of all Saturday happy hour from 6-9. I plan to hit this place up often in the future. Pros +
The best things about the Rose is that it is where I met the love of my life, and the bartenders are great. I just looked at the calendar for March 07 and there is only one DJ night. Hey, we girls want to dance and have fun with our special girl or meet our special girl, whatever the case may be.My girl and I were going to Traxx in Kent because every Friday and Saturday or special ocassion there was a DJ and dancing. A couple of weeks ago my love and I went to the Rose on a Friday night because I guess Traxx is out of buisness, so we drove to the Rose with a friend and the entertainment was a few girls playing pool and a tacky juke box. No one talks to anyone unless they know each other from some where else. We were always treated kindly at Traxx and I miss it already. The Rose has so much potential and could be a blast and a very cool place to hang out, but I guess we will be going to the guys bars to dance and have a good time.If you want help ask us gurls(girls) we would
I used to live just down the street from the Sunset Bowl, and have bowled there many times. It is good for a certain kind of bowling (OK, this is based on nighttime visits – I cannot vouch for the days) – ironic, kitsch, smoking and drinking expeditions into wow it’s so cool that we are actually bowling! On Friday or Saturday night, the place is packed with twentysomethings in vintage and Value Village wear, drinking cheap beer, bowling a few frames and fighting for the few seats in the bar to sing Karaoke. If this is your scene – go fot it! You’ll have a blast. If not, you’ve been warned. They have a bar and a restaurant. And, ya sure you betcha, pulltabs, to make the scene complete.
