Where is the Best Karaoke in Portland, Oregon?
Went to the Alibi a couple of weeks ago for a bachelorette party and even though it was packed, we managed to grab a booth in the back for all 10 of us. Unfortunately we were told there were 40 people ahead of us for karaoke already. A few of us put songs up plus the requisite $1 each (which I only think you should have to pay when you actually sing a song) including the bride. The KJ was very nice and after slipping her a fiver, she said she would make sure the bride-to-be sang, which she did after not too long. We were also told we could only order 3 items from the menu since we got there a bit after midnight and the kitchen was closed. We ended up ordering all three items including chips and salsa, which was good, hummus with pita, which was also good, and the macaroni and cheese, which was totally AWESOME! It was made with pepperjack and other cheeses and it was honestly the best I have ever had! Our server was SO nice (I can’t remember his name but he was young and cute and probab
We have fun there. They are getting into Karaoke and trying to find good KJ’s. I wish that Tim guy would do it more. (he sings good too!) Hes very friendly and cool. Alexis is the evening bartender and shes VERY cool. Drinks are good and Ive met some nice people there. Pool tables, Beer (and a cocktail!) and REAL people. Thats ok with me. Place could use a deep cleaning on a regular basis but I always enjoy myself there.Pros + Fun Casual BarCons – You decide. Check the place out.
I’ve been to the Galaxy twice. Second time I was smart enough not to eat the food. I would say my main complaint is the speed, or lack of, service. I’ve been there when it is packed and I’ve been there when it is average (some booths were empty and no one was standing to get a spot.) Both times meant there was about 20+ minute wait to get service. Worse is that each server has a specific table and if you get a slow one everyone around you will be served way ahead of you. The last time our server spent more time refilling water glases than taking drink orders. The food is low on the list of why people go there and it shows. I had sweet and sour…something. The meat was still cold inside and the corn syrup sauce on the outside was room temp. If you are fond of Chinese-sish food and karaoke I would reccomend Chopsticks or anything really.Pros + Location. Just enough skeeziness in an increasingly swanky neighborhood.Cons – Super slow service in an neighborhood full of be
My husband and I stayed in Portland recently and picked Dante’s for their Saturday Night show – Subterranean Caberet. There was a Seattle group playing, and we found both the music and show to be very entertaining! It was my birthday and we were so lucky to wander in! The musicians, dancers, MC, and crowd were all upbeat and the atmosphere was friendly and in party mode. There was a very diverse crowd – all ages and style of dress from jeans and sweaters to short black dresses and heels. No baseball caps. Two drinks were 11.75 plus tip – pretty typical.I have two cons that I want to share with readers. The first is that the service at the large bar was horrible. I thought my husband was exaggerating about her rudeness, so I attempted to order the next round with no luck. She wasn’t busy, just leaning and chatting. Order from the small bar!Second, we decided to stay for the second show and all patrons staying were told to leave their coats at the tables (or lose your table) a
