Where is the Best Karaoke in Los Angeles, California?
It’s a good singles bar. Burlesque show is alright and jazz music seems to be out of place. Eastside Luv has very good potential but needs to find their identity. Decor is great and they have their own version of ‘Cheladas’.DJ is below average and it seems he’s playing from the ipod eventhough the DJ has the proper equipment to mix. This place gets overcrowded on weekends so be ready to have less than elbow room.Overall its good bar to check out once or if your in the Eastside. Would go again for the Cheladas.Pros + Entertainment, Good Atmosphere, DecorCons – Very Small, Hard to Order Drinks, Overpriced
I was looking for a place to celebrate my bday, and I came across the good nite here on the site I read all the reviews and was a little skeptical, sounded too good to be true. But for serious this place was by far the highlight of the night. Everyone had the awesomest time. The DJ was rad, every request we had he played. I didn?t get a chance to go up to the bar because I was too busy dancing. The people in general were the nicest, I’m not just talking about the people that work there, I am talking about the people who were there to hang out. We made so many friends that night and danced with so many people. It was the best time I could ever have imagined. All the other reviews are dead on. O, and Daniel was super sweet.Pros + Ambience, People, MusicCons – One Bathroom stall
I’ve been here three times and have grown really fond of this place. You can’t deny the massive amount of character that this little bar has. Right when you walk in you’re greeted by mechanical puppets… kinda like the ones you’d see on Splash Mountain at Disneyland. They pop out of logs, play little guitars…the whole shebang. While this might sound kinda cheesy I personally love it and I love the decor and the drinks are great. They have a few specialty drinks and I’ve had the s’more type one… i can’t remember what its called exactly… maybe campfire? But you’ll know what I mean if you go… They have a plethora of beers on tap which is great and the staff is just as great. My favorite is the way they’ve set up some of their seating with a mock fireplace and a campsite kinda feel. Whoever came up with the interior design of this place deserves some kudos. Music’s awesome too btw.Minus one star though if you’re in there, it’s crowded, and your getting your drinks from t
Since I’ve been in LA, I’ve gone to mostly clubs and lounge-y type places. Fun, but not a lot of warmth. This place reminds me of home (just outside of Chicago). The Backstage is old-school (in a good way), unpretentious and friendly. The staff is not typical ‘seen it all, done it all’ LA types. They seem like regular people who care about doing their job well and making you feel comfortable. The food is bar food plus. I don’t know exactly where the ‘plus’ comes from, but everything I’ve tried here is better than at other places. The prices are low, the drinks are strong, and the room is very warm and comfortable. Nice mix of people, liking each other and having a good time. I wish the real world could be a little more like this place. There was a birthday party there the other night and the people seemed to be having more fun than a bunch of kids at Chucky Cheese. Pros + Friendly staff and crowd, great food, strong drinks, low pricesCons – Wish I lived a little closer
I like small pubs, specially if they have an English feel to them. So naturally when my friend took me to this pub, where the owner lady even remembered my friend from his last visit, I liked its atmosphere. Its a good place to sit and have a pint or two and watch some sports. The drink variety is comparable to any average size pub. The only problem was with the food. We ordered a couple of dishes, beef samosas and french fries. Both were bland and did not have even salt. So what the other dishes are like is anybody’s guess. But if you are looking for a nice place to hangout in SM, this is one of them.Pros + Friendly service, good beer, sport channelsCons – No salt or taste in food
