Where is the Best Karaoke in Los Angeles, California?
Not sure if any of the reviewers have been back in a while but it was my first time last night and we had great fun. There was parking out back: free! There was no cover charge, no need to tip the karaoke DJ, they play your song when you want and it was busy to the point of a good atmosphere with a good mix of people having fun, some good looking girls and a few crazies. If you like karaoke then its fun. The only things I would do to improve it are to turn up the music that accompanies the karaoke, play real music in between songs, reduce the price of non alcoholic drinks $5 for a soft drink is ridiculous! Finally, try to improve the food a bit and you’d have an even better place. But apart from that they give you free DVD of your performance and other novelty favours when its your birthday. Great place for a birthday or a bachelor/ette party.
This place seems to cater to large groups of people . . . however the energy is low. On a Saturday night the place was comfortably packed but no one was getting into the music. My husband and I got there early and were dissapointed to find that tables were only offered to groups of 4 or more. There was room at the bar so we parked there. The DJ mixed up the music well and the rotation was fair, (tips don’t hurt). For some reason no one danced on the dance floor until 1:45am. I thought that was a fluke until I went back again and had a similar experience. The drinks are good but pricey. I loved the Miss packman game in the corner!Pros + Open space, friendly DJ and wait staffCons – low energy, no special light effects
I had my birthday party at Parao and the service I received was fantastic. Friendly bartenders, waitress & waiters were all very courteous and with each table having a bell, we were able to ring it up for an immediate service! (no more looking around to get attention for service). The best part of it all was that the private karaoke rooms offered in a choice of English, Korean, Chinese, & Japanese songs. My multicultural friends were all able to sing a song. A great place to experience.Pros + Good Parking, Good Food, Nice atmosphere
This bar is amazing. Besides good, cheap drinks, the bar also has karaoke almost every night and lots of volunteers to sing. I was able to talk a guy into doing a duet of “Endless Love” with me. That’s just the kind of place that the Smog Cutter is. There’s also a pool table, if you don’t like to sing. Go and check it out. You might be scared of it at first, but it’s worth it in the end.Pros + Great karaoke scene, InexpensiveCons – Small, Somewhat daunting
