Where is the Best Karaoke in Boston, Massachusetts?
really one of the two best in terms of nice people working and running the place, but not as fancy in decor or as many good TV seats as Sports Depot or Fours. (BTW, the Quincy Fours is in many ways better than the Boston one.) I just like the unpretentious atmosphere, the very nice staff, and some pretty darn good food. Great fries–I always go for a large, fresh and crispy hot plate of ’em– and very good prices for the food. For some, the BU crowd on evenings may be a bit too young and exhuberant–this is definitely a hockey/football–and when the Knicks & Celtics have good teams, pro basketball–…this is a great place for taste of NYC (BU) vs Boston rivalry. Far better than the obnoxious BC/ Brookline sports bars… a younger, collegiate version of the Fours or Sports Depot–two deservedly well-rated Boston sports bars.Pros + owner, staff, nice crowd, cheap eatsCons – too young?, not very fancy, need more tvs
Elephant and Castle can easily be mistaken for a restaurant more so than a pub. This isn’t the kind of place where you’d want to sit for hours, watching the game and drink your sorrows away though. E&C is great for catching a power lunch, especially if you work in the area. They are also great for a quick drink after work, before you head home. The menu is americanized with a number of good options. I recommend their Irish beef stew with Guiness, which hits the spot for a good lunch or an early dinner. Nothing like a mash and beef stew washed down with an ale. Hits the spot indeedPros + Good food/drinksCons – can get crowded
On Fri. and Sat., this place is definitely laid back and college party-esque. As long as that’s what you’re looking for, you won’t be disappointed. Nothing here is fancy. The music is pretty much what you would hear at a house party – as in it sounds like someone’s iTunes collection with a healthy mix of old favorites but with occasional bad top 40 hit. This is a great place to go if you’re with a bunch of friends and you want to grab some drinks and do a little dancing! It’s cheap, and you won’t have to wait in line for an hour. Do beware of the cheesy men that other reviewers have mentioned – around 1:30am, they start hovering around anything female.Pros + laid back, relatively cheapCons – desperate men
I’m a fan of the bigger Cask, allows for you to always get a seat somewhere without waiting long(when I’ve been there) and not have to wait too long for a drink. I haven’t been there at super busy times, so I cant comment on that. Also not sure about the dancing in the back, I dont think I’d go to Cask for a dance scene…but definitely a nice spacious place to grab some drinks or watch a game. The food is definitely good too.
