My wife and I had our wedding bands made by Zoltan and could not be more happy over a year later. The level of craftsmanship that the experts at the gallery is unmatched in my opinion. I found Zoltan to be very upfront and willing to help and educate me as a novice jewelry purchaser (23 year old trying to get a wonderful engagement and wedding ring). The uniqueness of the techniques that he and his goldsmiths utilize cannot be found elsewhere. I believe that Austin is very lucky to have an industry leading jewelry artisan in such proximity. Whereas other jewelry establishments offer mass produced cast items, Zoltan offers custom, unique, and beautiful alternatives. As soon as you turn off 38th you notice the quaint wooden buildings. The front porch offers window views that dazzle and invite. Upon entering the Menagerie, you are struck by the layed out table displays that would impress any dinner guest, and the walls displaying silver, crystal, and china of finest quality. The kind staff greets you and bids you to wander the shop at your leisure, and what a wonder it was. The only problem was deciding on which exquisite piece to buy for my friend’s wedding, and even there the staff was helpful while still sublime. One of Austin’s greatest pleasures. I had been looking for a wedding ring for my girlfriend and did my fair share of shopping around in Austin and Benolds was the best jewler i found by far. I was completely clueless when it came to diamonds and they were extremely informative making it as painless as possible. At other jewlers, they would show me 2 or 3 diamonds in my requirements, and Benolds showed me at least a dozen varying in color and clarity, and the quality was outstanding. I went during one of their special diamond events and was given prices well below other jewlers. I also had to order the setting special and the turnaround was extremely quick, less than 3 days. Overall i had a great experience, and would highly recommend them to my friends and just about anyone. They have a very nice clean store, and made me feel very welcome. I had been looking for an engagement ring for 3 months. I have an account at Jared and almost had a ring picked out and ready to buy…but something wasn’t sitting right. The salesman at Jared was extremely pushy, and it was obvious he was trying to make the sale. I wasn’t completely satisfied with the small selection that they had. Then I went to Americus and was blown away. John spent almost an hour showing me just the settings in the style I was looking for, and it took that long because they have 5 times the selection of Jared. And the stones with the same clarity and cut and weight were right at, if not cheaper, than Jared. They had the stone put in the setting and sized the same day, and I was floored at the finished product. There isn’t a “used car salesman” vibe at this place.
