Where is the Best Irish Pub in Seattle, Washington?
This is my neighborhood pub, so I’m biased, but I think OP is a great neighborhood joint…the music’s certainly not a big draw. It’s one of the only places in Ballard that’s not populated with wannabe-hipsters. Just a friendly, laid-back place to hang. Sunday potluck BBQ, Tuesday trivia are the big draws, plus the new well-stocked jukebox and REAL dartboards in back.Pros + jukebox, people, darts!Cons – no happy hour
Out of all the Irish bars in Seattle this is definitely my favorite! It’s got a kick-ass atmosphere and it’s just plain fun. It’s good for groups as well as coming with just a friend. Sometimes there’s a cover charge, sometimes there’s not. Sometimes there’s a live band, sometimes there’s not. Sometimes the music is so loud you can’t hear your friends, sometimes it’s not. It’s kind of a hit or miss, but i love those nights when you’ve got a good group, there’s no cover charge, and the music is not overly loud. We usually hang out by the pool table, as the bar tends to be a bit louder. The bartenders are usually cool, and once when we did a fake-bachelorette party here, my friend who was good friends with one of the bartenders paid him to strip for us… and he actually did it (down to his boxers). We were all rolling over with laughter, it was pretty funny! Now how many bars can you say that about???This place is super chill and great to hang out in.Parking is typically
Just wanted to give an updated review of one of the best pubs in Seattle, Irish or not. For those who have not been there in a while Conor’s now has liquor AND food! For about a month now they have been serving 5 or 6 different kinds of grilled sandwiches… delicious! It remains to be a great place to grab a Guinness, Irish Coffee or any other non-Irish drink of your choice. There is still music of all types most nights of the week, which always adds to the fun. More than anything, Conor’s is one of the best rooms to hang out in on Ballard Avenue… if you haven’t been there in a while I suggest you check it out.Pros + Food, Drinks and AtmosphereCons – Only two bathroom stalls
Was slightly worried when going in at 9:30 on a Friday night and finding us to be the only patrons except a few bar flies. For an Irish pub there was little life. The tables were semi-dirty and waitstaff not overly friendly. The hostess seemed surprised we wanted food. As we’re placing our food order I have a fleeting thought we should go elsewhere as the waitstaff seemed bothered we were there but alas hunger pains were fierce. The food is wonderful, and large portions! DH ordered spicy cajun pasta and raved non-stop. He said the “heat” wasn’t too much and still tasted the food. I ordered a large jambalaya (which could have fed two or three people) and loved the flavors and fresh ingredients. Corn muffin was okay, better after sopping up the sauce. We didn’t find the atmosphere all that great, if anything severly disappointing. But the food alone will make us go back and try again, perhaps during the featured Irish music hours.
