Where is the Best Irish Pub in Portland, Oregon?
Stopped in last night (for obvious reasons: The Irish Festival in PDX) and had a wonderful time.Great food. Great beer selection. I’m a huge fan of black and tans (or black and ciders). Although it was crowded, the staff seemed to keep their cool, which is always a plus for me! Can’t wait to stop back in when its less crowded.Pros + AtmosphereCons – Can be crowded
The 1st time I went here I had the best breakfast Experience. Joe’s Omelet! It was big, stuffed, fluffy – cooked just right (not over done & krispy on outside). The service was great. Home fried potatos yummy. But I brought a friend and went a 2nd time & it was shwag! The corned beef hash was home made but had this weird anise flavor. The home fried potatos were cold and tasted like they were in a pan w/ pine sol residue. I asked for some new ones & what I got was reheated potatoes – same stale, pine sol flavor. The hush puppies were home made, pretty good but could have been cooked a little longer. I did really like their jalapeno jelly!I was really disappointed the 2nd time. Yes it was busier, but we did not get the great service I got the 1st time. Our tables were not set when we were seated. Had to ask for spoons to stir the coffee…etc..They had (have??) great potential but I probably won’t go againPros + Great atmosphereCons – food unpredictable
While I hardly felt by going there due to the obviously outdated picture from Citysearch I was pleasantly suprised to see a fresh and clean exterior matched by a warm and friendly interior. The seating on the Yamhill St. side has to be one of the best spots for watching downtown portlanders wander by around. Just the right amount of sun and space to be too comfortable. The cocktails are great while the food was so much better than I ever would of expected. The people are the friendliest in town with every one of them attractive but not full of themselves.I will definately be bringing in folks to Paddy’s very soon.Pros + Great space with warm wonderful lighting late in the eveningCons – Can get crowded on the patio seating
I enjoyed this pub because they play a good variety of music and there is a small dance floor for those who want to dance. The McFadden Girls are hot and make the trip worthwhile. It was just opening when I went, so the drinks were mediocre. They also have a couple of pool tables and I think some food selections.Pros + Great atmosphere, McFadden Girls, DancingCons – Poor parking, Crowded, Mediocre drinks
