Where is the Best Irish Pub in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania?
This is a great little Irish bar. I used to be a regular there until i moved out of Carnegie. I lived about two blocks away on the same street and it was pretty convenient to get smashed down there. John and John, the bartenders, are pretty nice guys. The will always use your first name(if they know it) and never mess up ur order. The food is awesome, an Irish cuisine, and the beer selection is nice. You could spend hours just looking at all the Irish momentos hanging from the walls, while listening to some live Irish music, by local musicians.Pros + Comfortable, QuaintCons – Gets crowded at times, Parking on street
They have some great items on the menu. Cuban sandwich is bomb, better than Kaya’s cuban. They have a bad habit of removing menu items that are good. At one point they had a great pulled pork sandwich, and a bbq quesadilla, both of which are history. The irish food is average. The drinks are a bit overpriced for a place that also serves food.Like the menu, the waitstaff is a mixed bag. Some days you get waited on hand and foot, and others it might take 20-30 minutes to get your first drink (in a nearly empty place mind you).Take note of their entertainment schedule… At all costs avoid karaoke night… its a bunch of 40 year olds singing bad songs from the 70’s.Their happy hour is very generous, offering FREE WINGS AND SUBS with the drinks. You can get a decent meal along with your liquor 5:00 every day….The liquor selection is slightly above average. Its a good place to hang out and talk with friends casually. I usually don’t start my night out with friends sayi
Good bar, one big pool table and one bar sized pool table, each costs $1 per game. Service was great. Nice open pool room area with tv and booths. This bar draws a younger crowd, maybe too young. Meatheads with chips on their shoulder will be seen at this bar. Oh yeah, do not accidentally turn the light out in the bathroom while a meathead is still in there.
