Where is the Best Irish Pub in Dallas, Texas?

Ireland forever! What a great find in the Shamrock Pub. It’s atmosphere is similar to that of Tom Cruise’s Uncle Pat’s joint in “Cocktail”. The pub has a warm, friendly environment that makes you want to go back again. If you’re lucky enough to get the owner, Matt, to talk about his “mother country,” you’re in for a treat! His accent alone will charm you. The gorgeous long, mahogany bar is the only thing separating you from more than 100 beers in stock. Stop by the Shamrock for some beers after work or for a nightcap after an evening out in downtown Cowtown!

I’ve been to Sherlock’s several times. Usually it’s a lot of fun. It’s cut up into different rooms–pool room, live music room, bar area, small areas with tables and chairs. I like that a lot. However, whether its happening all depends on who is playing in the live music room. If the band is good then the whole place is fun. If the band is bad, the place is on the empty side and pretty boring. It’s also fun when there’s a good game on. Drink specials are okay. Service is fine.Pros + Layout of the club, heavy police presenceCons – Heavy police presence

The idle rich pub is exactly what the irish pub was meant to be! With tons of beer on tap, even more unique beer bottled, and special frou frou drinks for us girls, this place has something for everyone. Not to mention the bar food is great, you have some of the old fashioned irish food (split pea soup and fish and chips) and great french fries and burgers. But best of all is the service. Friendly, and funny, be sure to ask for Kelly the waitress or Wes the bartender. Both will steer you in the right direction for a good drink… and will even make you laugh in the process. Cheers!Pros + good everything!Cons – nothing

Been here a few times now… trying to be patient with a new place opening up, and looking for a good Irish Pub that’s close. Enjoy the Cod & chips, others have usually enjoyed their food selections (with one very off night shortly after they opened). After getting past a usually very young and very inexperienced hostess, the atmosphere is “good” but oddly cold. I can’t get past the general noise level being unacceptable… patron loud has warmth in a good pub. This loud has the harshness of hard surfaces that invite you to dine and dash. Food is adequate enough to return (with room for improvement) but only on off hours when the noise level is reduced. The few times there have been live performers, they’ve been ok and in the rough Irish category.. Sadly, Lochranns is not the place for conversation with friends… still searching…

There seems to be a younger, unfriendly group staffing the place. There is a frigid atmosphere where I kind of have the feeling like everyone is thinking “Customers are so inconvenient.” I bet my girlfriend that she couldn’t make our waitress say “Your Welcome” after serving a drink, and I won. I probably would have won the eye-contact bet as well if we had made one.Side rant: I really wish owners would stop staffing their bars with these kids who think being a bartender is an MTV reality show. I know it’s tempting to put a skirt on some eye candy and call her a bartender, but it’s just not as good as having a real bartender there. Maybe it will bring in a few dbags to flirt with her, but it’s not really worth how much you are going to lose from the heavy and regular drinking crowd. At least put them on days until they learn how to tend. The bar itself is pretty good. Nice selection of beer and would otherwise be very cozy.We are in our late 20’s and went there about 6 or 7 times
