Where is the Best Irish Pub in Atlanta, Georgia?
I may be a little biased to this place as I live within walking distance, but in all actuality it’s one of my favorite places for happy hour snacks and drinks in Atlanta. Parking is a little scarce as there is only a pay lot next to the bar, but the North Avenue Marta station is less than a block away. The menu is loaded with typical bar food items (burger, wings, etc.), but there are a fare share of English dishes and American dishes with a trendy touch. The patio area is exceptional for sharing some appetizers and cold beers on a great summer evening after work. Although it can be crowded at times, the space of the downstairs bar area and patio is large enough to accomodate everyone that wants a table on most nights. Patio folk tend to be a little crazier than those inside as I actually witnessed a grown man who had been drinking religiously since 6 pm stand up, rock back and forth, stumble backwards, plop down on one of the wooden picnic table benches, and perform an immediate, viol
I was out late Saturday and went to Hand In Hand to see what everyone was talking about in the Highlands. Seems they just changed over the staff and the place has had a resurgence so I wanted to check it out. I was pleasantly surprised that my favorite in town pub is back!.. The scene was 25-35, good looking professionals and it was fun. New music, lowered drink prices and the service is good.Parking is free, but i walked from my house, so that wasn’t a problem.. I met up some friends and my server told me about the $1 Sundays and I was skeptical.. DDay two:Sunday 3pm, I went there for the second day and this place has heard the patrons and the locals and now offers $1 Social Sundays with $1 Fish Tacos (good) and $1 PBR’s.. Flip cuppers you will like that they have $4 Pitchers every Sunday.. Live music, and the people watching was fun.. i will be back.
If you havent been yet, what are you waiting for. A friendly laid back atmosphere offering a variety of quality scotch and other libations. This is what a great neighborhood bar ought to be like. The bartenders don’t know a stranger and can mix anything you want and some things you wont want. Live music weekly and on weekends is always a crowd pleaser with a variety of hits and original music. The simple menu offers bar favorites that are prepared to order and served hot the way they should be. Put this place on your regular rotation.
We kept reading about the fish and chips and how they’re voted the best in Atlanta. Couldn’t image. Now we can. They were phenomenal. Couldn’t finish it because it is such a huge amount. We went on a Monday thinking it wouldn’t be too busy, but it was. Everyone was playing bar bingo. It was free so we played, and won $10, so my dinner ended up almost free. Cool. Can’t beat that. My boyfriend had chili and they give little bags of fritos with all the toppings. Never dipped chili with fritos before. Really good chili and the fritos made it even better. I saw this place on Citysearch, and told a few of my friends to meet me there for St. Patty’s Day for drinks. it took me 2 passes to find it because it is kind of hidden. Living in Suwanee, I was surprised that a cool little pub like this one would be off my radar. Anyway, the place was PACKED, obviously because of St. Patty’s Day, and I met my friends near the crowded front door. It was extremely hard to get a drink, but understandable because of the amount of people that were there. However, when my friend did order us drinks, for whatever reason, the lady bar tender in the front bar was so rude that my friend was ready to go to Luby’s. The bar tender would not make as many drinks as she ordered. (there were 10 of us that met up there) So she and another girl were only able to get drinks for half of us after waiting a really long time in line.
