Where is the Best Indian Food in Portland, Oregon?
I’m baffled by some of the negative comments. I wasn’t going to review this place (its busy enough as it is, so I wanted to keep it as “secret” as possible), but now I feel compelled to do so. THIS PLACE IS FANTASTIC! I don’t go often, as its a little above my budget, but I try to go at least once every month or two because the food is incredible. The gnocci is to die for (nothing close to a ‘donut’–come on for real?!) The chicken is so tasty and falls off the bone. We’ve ordered every special they’ve offered – loved them all. The various bruschettas are mouth watering. And Seth knows his wine! I really like Seth and Chantal – they are very nice, very real people. Chantal is not as engaging as Seth, but still friendly in a quieter way. And they are definitely NOT pretentious. I have to admit, on my first visit there, the place was busy and the service wasn’t uber attentive or outwardly friendly. But I came back for the food and so glad I did, because the service only impr
As an employee of Twilight for the last 1.5 years I definitely know what every item in the restaurant tastes like. And I have to say I LOVE 98% of our menu items. I have had many years of working with pizza (Godfathers, Dominoes and Dragoos) and know that Twilight has the best pizza that I have come across in the Portland Metro Area. I started working as a cook my first 8 months at Twilight, and then was able to move to the front of the house and become a server. I truly enjoy serving at Twilight and taking care of our guests. We have quite a few fantastic regulars, who I look forward to seeing weekly. I have met many fantastic people and have heard sooooo many compliments about our food, service, decor (the floor and the giant blue paper lantern), our involvement with the community, and the general atmosphere of the restaurant. There are people that drive from Lake Oswego and Woodland when they want pizza. (That is a huge honor, since there are dozens of pizza joints between us
A party of 6 of us enjoyed dinner there last night. Really enjoyed the food. Everything we had tasted fresh and was prepared well. Server was knowledgeable about the menu and good too (but could clear empty plates a bit sooner). We especially enjoyed the mulligatawny soup (yum!) and the appetizer special (fried sweet potato cakes with sweet tomato chutney). The culotte steak was very good as well. Interesting twist on the beet salad with the cardamon. All in all very enjoyable evening. Pros + Mulligatawny soup, roasted beet salad, culotte steakCons – Little on expensive side, cold if sit by windows
