The grounds and garden of this quiet luxury hotel near but not in the bustle of central DC were outstanding. I recommend a room overlooking the park. The surrounding neighborhood has several appealing ethnic restaurants–we especially enjoyed a Japanese Sake tasting bar with excellent food as well as an extremely large selection of sakes. My only concerns were with housekeeping and the overall cleanliness of the room–dusty surfaces, streaky table tops, a pile of old magazines first on a table, then sitting in a pile on the floor where I moved them the first day and where they sat for the three days of my stay. There was a non-functioning bedside table lamp–but to be fair, I did not mention this to hotel staff until I checked out, as I was always too busy in the day and too lazy at night, and there were individual reading lights attached to the beds. The bathroom was very small compared to generous size of the room, but everything worked it seemed clean enough. The staff were generall

The location was very convenient and included a free shuttle bus. I wouldn’t normally expect their rates to be in my price range so I don’t usually consider them when booking a hotel. After this stay I would consider staying at a Hyatt hotel since the rate was affordable and the room and service was what I would expect from the Hyatt name, but well above what I would expect from the hotels I usually use. This hotel made me feel extravagent: The room and amenities seemed more lavish and complete than I would have expected even from a Hyatt. Anything I wanted was already in place. I didn’t need to contact them for anything.

The Key Bridge Marriott is located right across the Key Bridge in Arlington, Virginia. Though most of the rooms are nice, the hotel is older and I feel that most of the rooms that I’ve been in there are not quite up to a typical Marriott level. There are three dining establishments in the hotel — a pub with standard pub fare, a casual restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinne,r, and a fancy steakhouse (JW’s) on the roof of the hotel which has nice views of the city. There is also a small gift shop. Near the gift shop is an indoor pool, and there is also a fitness center. Some of the rooms have a beautiful view of Georgetown, which is directly across the river from the hotel, and others have a nice view of downtown DC. The hotel is located just outside of Washington and is about a five minute walk from the Metro. However, I do not often stay at this hotel because the area where the hotel is located is mostly taken up by office buildings and as a result there are not too

This hotel is what I would expect from the average Embassy Suites. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. The selection of TV channels is ok but I would add Science and SciFi channels. No religious channels, which places it well into the above-average TV category for me. They need to update the TV’s, though. The check-in was fast and friendly but they forgot the HHonors perk of the two free bottles of water in the fridge. I had to remind them the next day. They also don’t replenish the supply of front desk apples on a regular basis… getting one was more a matter of luck than anything else. There is plenty of free parking, and the Internet was free, which told me that the Alexandria Embassy Suites lied to me when they said $9.95/day was standard for their hotels. As compared to the Alexandria hotel, the bathroom was absolutely spotless. The breakfast buffet is very good, and the cooks are very friendly and accommodating. The omelets are much better here than at other Embassy Su
