Easter Sunday, our party of 4 arrived at 12:10 for a 12:00 reservation (the church service ran long).The room was relatively crowded, but there were empty tables and several groups getting to the end of their meals.We waited another half hour to be seated.After we were seated, we waited another half hour with no sign of a waiter. There were several running around like mad, but none of them came near us. Finally, the bus girl took pity on us, wrote down our order very carefully and went off to submit it to someone. AN HOUR LATER WE STILL HAD NO FOOD!We got up to leave and the manager assured us that our food was coming right out. We sat back down and it did.Every single order had a mistake.So we left.It’s a beautiful space. They get lots of good reviews.But not from me.I’ll never go back. The really enjoyed the atmosphere at Americano. The seats are very comfortable, and I like the modern space. The place certainly draws an attractive and trendy crowd. Service and food were good, but not great. I liked the soup and steak that I ordered, but they weren’t much different from what I make at home, and there are some neighborhood restaurants that have better food at a lower price. But, higher prices are to be expected at this prime location. The ferry building and waterfront looked great out the window on a dark and slightly foggy night.I was surprised the server did not keep pouring our wine – we had to do it ourselves. But otherwise, the service was friendly and well-timed. The hostess was especially friendly and warm.
