Where is the Best Hookup Spot in Dallas, Texas?
Seattle to Boston. LA to Miami been there and partied hard. Lizard Lounge has a special place in my heart. The Lights, the sound system and the DJ’s OMG…GLOBAL. Fridays and Saturdays is the techno, house, trance party with either very good local dj’s or mind blowing global DJ’s. Sundays is The Church and trust me everyone is welcome and the crown knows how to have a good time way into the weee early hours. The club looks like a gutted 1920’s theater and the dance floor is the orchestra pit and stage. The second floor overlooks the main dance floor for some amazing views and instead of a smoke machine it’s bubbles. The club has plenty of chill areas and high energy dance space and spills out into the parking lot when they host massive events. NEVER a dull night.Pictures and Video:01/19/2008: Live @ Lizard Lounge : DJ Dan
I really have no idea what’s going on, I feel like I am in the twilight zone! Well maybe not that dramatic, but what Obar are all these people talking about??? Bc I am having trouble believing it’s that tiny little underground place on Main I know as Obar! I’m not defending the bar, I find the place a bit too hard to walk through/ get a drink anyway, but was so curious I had to ask! I live downtown and have been to Obar roughly 50 times over the past 3 years since moving to Dallas and I couldn’t be more confused! Waiting in hours-long lines? Lists? Slipping money to bouncers? Did I accidentally link to the Ghostbar reviews somehow? And I don’t even know what is going on with all of the racism stuff… I’ve never noticed anything other than a well mixed crowd. Who are the non-whites not getting in? Asian? Black? Hispanic? Again, I’m just curious at this point… bc the Obar all these people are talking about just…. doesn’t exist? By the way, heard rumors Obar shut down
Went on a Saturday in Nov. 09 as the staff was very friendly. Loved the house music as so many other upscale venues including even Suite have resorted to predominantly Top 40s tracks. Great decor, lighting, and interior design but there are way too many “reserved” tables that were unoccupied throughout the night. Had to leave early that night for a prior commitment, but will definitely be back on a more crowded Saturday evening. Pros + Great overall atmosphere with solid tracks on Sat nightCons – Too many unoccupied “reserved” tables, heard Fridays were primarily top 40s
I believe I only had a really good time maybe once or twice out of the I would say four or five times that I have gone. I like that ladies are always free and the whole place is very nice but that would be about it for me. If you get there too late, you have to wait not in a line. Actually its not a line. Its a bunch of people crowded around the ropes and the door guy picks whoever he wants to come in. So to avoid that, I would recomend getting there before 10:30 especially if your black. Yea, I said it. I don’t really know but it sure does remind me of the movie knocked up. For all white people who saw that movie, it was funny what the door guy said, but in all honestly that is the real life truth. When they do that, best believe not many of US are getting in. So if your black, get there early. Also, there really isnt much room for a dance floor AND the drinks are waaaay too expensive. I asked for a long island and it was more like a watered down short island and the guy charges me 12
