We have been hanging out on the patio at Vino for about 2 years. We have come to know the owners and it is like an extension of our own living room. I have had numerous gathering there from birthdays, New Years, anniversaries and just good old girls night. There are numerous regulars who first met over a glass of wine at the bar but now meet to discuss wine and over time have become friends. The staff is great ! Denise the wine expert is awesome, she is well traveled and a certified somlier(sp) she selects the wine and has yet to recommend a wine we did not like. They owners are innovative and have expanded the food menu with Great Cheese and other great nibblesPros + wine and more wine great wineCons – parking– not every one knows they can park at Post Garage

The Loon is a fantastic bar that can be just about whatever you want it to be.Need dinner at 7pm on sunday? They got it.Looking for a hook up at midnight on Saturday? Check. In town on business on a Monday and you need a place to have a few drinks and work on that proposal due in the morning? No prob. The reason for its versatility is four-fold. 1. Great staff. These folks don’t mess about while on duty. Even if you are the only guy in the bar…they won’t be chatting with each other and ignoring you. Whoever trained them did a very good job. 2. Stiff drinks. Hell…stiff drinks are useful just about 24 hours a day. If I want a drink at midnight or noon…I want it to be a stiff one. 3. Good food. Food here is restaurant quality +…not crappy greasy bar food like some Bars and Grills in Uptown. 4. Last and perhaps most importantly….the crowd changes in both numbers and attitude right when you want it too. Like clockwork…this place has just the right crowd at

The Library is a great low key bar. My friends and I love to go there because there’s no cover and drinks are cheap. They have a juke box that plays great music and there’s pool tables and tv’s that play sports games. There’s not a dance floor, however my girls and I have no problem creating our own and people always join in! The crowd is young and well groomed. You never have to worry about the “dirty mexicans” or “gangsta thugs”. Its better to go with a group but as the night goes on you don’t have any problems making friends. Pros + cheap drinks, no cover, relaxed enviroment, chill peopleCons – gets very crowded

Ya’ll the Slip Inn is a DIVE. Dark, loud, crowded, sweaty, crude & sometimes rude, the bartenders have been known to make customers cry (due to bad tipping), on Saturday the DJ is sketchy, and the bouncers scary, and the regulars? you’d think they own that place! And yes, if you aren’t a good customer, someone will tell you about yourself. It is the definition of dive, i.e. it’s unique, it’s cheap, hidden, and personal so not everyone knows about it, it’s a place where people go to get away from the stuff going on around them and just be. Heck they sell T-shirts that ask people to defend the city, from the mayor! Helllooooo…And for that, I love, love, love the Slip Inn! If I’m having a “my week was bad, I don’t want to be bothered and I wish I were in NYC where everybody and nobody knows your name kinda day”, I’m going to the Slip Inn. The music the DJs spin is exceptional. The drinks are stiff and reasonably priced. The crowd is ridiculously diverse which makes it oh so f

The bartender in the back room on Friday night was pathetic at best. Lazy, slow and lacking in knowledge of drinks. I asked for a Jim Beam and Coke. He told me they didn’t have Jim Beam. I pointed to the shelf behind him at the full bottle of Jim Beam sitting there. Later I order a Disoronno sour. He gave me a generic brand amaretto. I told him that I had ordered Disoronno. He asked if I would just go ahead and take the no-name brand and he would use the Disoronno for the next order. The DJ Michael Roos however is one of the best in Dallas! Wow! What a song mixologist.Pros + The musicCons – Worst Bartender
