Where is the Best Hookup Spot in Chicago, Illinois?
To start, I’m a guy who has been to “A”-Circuit velvet-rope clubs from South Beach to Mumbai to Dubai. I am not a Chicago resident, therefore, this was my first time to (what is supposed to be) a velvet-rope club in Chicago. On a positive note, I came there with 2 girls and another guy and we were able to get right in, but I think that may have been due to the fact that a guy that we knew whose name we dropped at the door had a table reserved, so I can’t comment on what other posts have said about the alleged “rudeness” of the doormen. The only pro’s I can say about the place are the girl- to-guy ratio is about 2-to-1, and everybody in the place, including the staff, is an 8 or better. In terms of the many cons about the place, on a national (and for me a global perspective) of what you would expect for a velvet-rope club, this place falls way short of expectations. Not much thought or $$ was put into the infrastructure and (lack of) high-tech lighting of the cl
Young kids think this is a club. I remember the glory days of Shelter in Chicago – that was a club! Sound Bar has a nice design but it costs way too much for a bunch of wannabe 21 year old model types who wear jeans too tight – go to Capitol Club on Milwaukee if you want Euro-dance or hit up RedNoFive on Halsted for House music. Punk and metal? check out the EXIT on North Avenue or The Mutiny on Western Ave.
We had the best time there. The crowd there is not a bunch of 21 yeard olds like the other bars in the area. It was small but we made the most of it. The decor is awesome, it reminded me of myapartment. Christy is the best bartender there, she had our drinks as soon as we ordered them, despite how busy it was. The music was alright, it was alot of mixes of house music. We love it there and would go there again and again. Pros + decor, crowdCons – service, size
Ended up at the Reagle Beagle on a whim. Walked in with a friend and was surrounded by photos of Tony Danza, Tom Selleck, and the cast of the Love Boat! To some that may be a problem, but for the Reagle Beagle that is just part of the charm.A really fun casual place more like a lounge than a bar. I don’t know if the interior was modeled after the bar from Three’s Company tv show, but the layout encouraged great conversation at all points. The music was fun, the attitude of the wait staff was cool, and there was a nice mix of young and old in the bar.I would definitely recommend the Beagle to anyone in Chicago looking for a fun, casual, night out. I know I will be heading back soon.
