Where is the Best Hookup Spot in Atlanta, Georgia?
Surely not a spot to plop for the entire evening but definitely a chill “hole in the wall” that beats most holes. Great for a warm up drink before the running of the bars. Also, wonderful for cooling down from the full blown club. Not a great abundance of seats but the drinks come quick and music’s quite nice. Not a pretentious place for all you cute folks to be seen, so beware. El bar is worth the try.Pros + Small, quaintCons – Parking’s a mess but i dont care
I went to the Mark for a special event about a week ago. I really had a great time; it is much bigger than it looks! I liked how the different levels had different DJs playing…something for everyone. The drinks a standard fare, but well made. 3 things stood out at this location: 1. The bartender had a great attitude. Sometimes bartenders can seem too busy or snotty….but not here. She was great. All smiles and listened to our order (my girlfriend likes her martini a special way…and she was happy when it arrrived!) 2. The bouncers. They were actually nice. One of them saw a guy bothering my friend. We did not even have to ask for help. HE came to us. We told him that the guy was creeping us out a little. He went over, and told the guy to “give us a little space”. The creepy guy did more than that…he left us alone totally! The bouncer even checked back with us a little later to make sure we were okay. NICE! 3. The sound. It was really good. So often, the sound
I’ve only been to the Drive In one time… but what a great experience and what a cool addition for Atlanta night-timers. It’s exactly what you’d expect… a handful of parking lots with massive screens that have trees as additional backdrops. You can bring your own booze, and you turn your radio to a specific dial to pipe in the movie’s audio. The bathrooms aren’t exactly the cleanest things in the world, but the food is more of the carnival variety (corndogs, anyone) so they get extra credit there. While Atlantic Station and Regals are charging some $12+ for a movie, Starlight keeps it real for $7 per person…for a DOUBLE FEATURE. This going to be my summer saving destination of 2010.Pros + It’s a rare drive in!Cons – A little far away from the city, bathrooms aren’t desirable
I love this park. Let me tell you how much time I spend there: a lot. I was there Friday night for over an hour. I got up Saturday morning and went back for an hour. I’m there several times a week after work for at least an hour each time. The “Active Oval” is my area, and the main place I jog. The dirt-trodden, gravel-laden surface of its track makes it easy on the knees for long runs. And if you get bored there, just venture out onto the track that lazily meanders around the entire park. This park is also great for people watching, as there is never a shortage of folks enjoying the park. It never fails that some quirky little guy or girl is galavanting around the park on roller blades, cute couples are enjoying picnics, families are strolling around, and people are walking their dogs. It’s a veritable fun-fest, and it’s hard NOT to be happy here. Just the other day a mom was pitching a whiffle ball to her son, and it came rolling down the hill to me. I threw the ball back to her
If you love to dance, be around a mixed crowd, and drink, this is a place for you. Service is good. They make good drinks that taste so good and get you so drunk, you don’t even know it! Drink prices are good and normal. Closes @ 3:00am. Free to get in, but charges $3.00 after 1:00am. Plays ALL kinds of music. A lot of good Hip hop and a few old songs, but they’re good! It’s crowded, but you can get through. If anything is bad, there are some crazy BIAS, who try to start a fight, but no one messes with my friends and I because we know the bouncers and the bartenders. People know us there. We’re always the ones on stage with a huge group of friends. This place is a college crowd and good looking people. Thsi place has T.V.’s, beer pong, VERY cheap beer, pool, dance floor, etc. etc. etc. Fridays are the night to go. Saturdays are good too. Fridays are a mixed crowd. Saturdays have more african americans. But other than everything else, this is the place to go to grab a GOOD drink and dan
