Where is the Best Home Decor in Los Angeles, California?

I’ll be honest, I used to hate The Grove. It epitomized the worst of LA – exclusive, trendy, overpriced, fake, and a little ridiculous. However, somewhere along the way I believe I’ve been converted. When surveying LA shopping options, The Grove is a step above the standard blah mall. It has ambience with it’s Bellagio-esque water fountain, tree-lined lit streets, and trolley. It has character in it’s grand outdoor space with a quiet street tucked to the side. It’s a nice place to take other people and a place that makes you feel good while you shop. It has a nice array of shops and restauarants, and the Farmer’s Market keeps the place somewhat down to earth. But most important, it offers an experience while still offering affordable shopping.Pros + Ambience, Affordable, Shopping & Food SelectionCons – Pricey Theater, Can Be Crowded

Had to do some gifts for some collegues of mine and happened upon this crazy shop in West Hollywood. When they said random, they meant it. The enthuastic staff put together some cool “boxes” which included a bottle of Longboard Merlot, an awesome wine opener, a book on surfing and some wine glasses. You could literally do all of your shopping for every holiday here. My wife special ordered an organic hemp pillow stitched with family members, including the furry ones. They even sell wall mounted fireplaces! The women there know their wine, too. Each one means something to them and they become very animated describing each bottle.Check it out!Pros + knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff; great objets d’art, amazing wine selectionCons – finding it! They don’t have a sign yet so you have to pay attention

Worst Management in a tickle-down environment for non commission paid salesgirls that are in-fighting with each other for sales, yet do not get a dime in commissions. The management posts their sales upstairs in their loft office to pit each salesgirl against each other to belittle the ones with low sales- YET does not pay a commission. Each girl gets a little above minimum wage!! They are taught by the owner to act “Crisp” in attitude. In other words, if a customer asks a price of something- she should make a sound (similar to a tssk) and walk away. They like to think of themselves as a “Tiffany’s” but is well off the mark. The management equates snobbery actions and behavior with “Tiffany”. If you ever go to Tiffany’s you are well taken care of in a pleasant manner. Noone pleasant works at Room With a View. And their merchandise looks quite dated and trite. You can buy similar anywhere for way less and not be mistreated by a misguided sales staff that is overworked and abused

I saw GB&A’s ad in Angeleno magazine a few months ago and went on their website.I bought a pair of lamps for my livingroom, and a round mirror to go in my entry. They took a day longer than I expected to arrive, but John did call me to tell me that was the case, which was very nice. Once my lamps and mirror arrived, I was more than happy with what I paid good bucks for. The lamps were exactly as Gerard had discribed to me over the phone, and the shades are a candle light silk and they glow beautifully when the lamps are lit. The mirror was a bit large for the space, but that was my own lack of planning. I ended up using it over the livingroom credenza, and that’s where it was made to go all along! Thanks Gerard, and John, for your help and for your beautiful selections! I’ve been using citysearch for a long time, my only regret is not having run into you guys earlier!Pros + Knowledgeable, Courtious, HelpfulCons – None in my experience

Ever since I found Sumi’s, I’ve been addicted. She’s got the most incredible eye for the unique, the beautiful and the “every day” pieces. At first I convinced myself that it was okay to splurge on all the gorgeous treasures so long as I was buying myself jewelry to mark a significant occasion…when I ran out of important life moments, or at least ones that I wanted to remember, I told myself that the jewelry is all heirloom-quality, I’ll be wearing it for years. It is the first place I go to find gifts for my friends and relatives, and it is impossible for me to get out of there without something beautiful for myself. Every single piece of jewelry I own from Sumi’s gets me compliments, and I am always so excited to send people in. Go! Go now before I buy everything!!!!
