Where is the Best Home Decor in Chicago, Illinois?
I feel like I am doing a public service by writing this review. My husband and I were shopping for an entertainment center and purposely selected one that was available for delivery in 4 weeks. The piece was delayed 4 times – no one ever called , emailed, wrote, smoke signaled to notify us. Rather, we had to call customer service each time only to be told that it was delayed because of (1) weather, (2) damaged merchandise, and (3) significant back order. The only constant comment was that “it’s not us, it’s the manufacturer.” We finally had to call the Store Manager who sold us another piece that we received in 3 weeks. At this point, we were already into this 3 months, they had erroneously charged our credit card in full (they are supposed to wait until it ships) and felt like we had little choice. Simply a wonderful shopping experience! I would recommend this store to anyone who is looking for a place to browse, seeking fun and different gifts, or searching for that perfect lamp….plus the gift wrapping is free, elegant, and a real time saver. If you don’t have time to stop in, be sure to at least window shop–especially at night when all the gorgeous lamps can be seen in the windows.
While preparing artwork to display in a group thesis exhibition at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, I decided I would need to select a mat and frame to properly present a series of photographs. I went to a custom frame maker in the loop area, but they were unable to accommodate either my time-line, or price range. I was quickly running out of time, and found out about Peterson. I called and spoke to a designer who met with me that afternoon. He helped me make an informed decision and select materials that I really felt were right-on for my artwork. Despite the fact that I had a very specific presentation in mind, I was able to pick my photos up within 2-days, and the cost was significantly less than what I had been quoted downtown. The pieces looked great and I was able to stay relaxed, and install them properly.Pros + Very helpful and accommodating customer service.
I love this store! The showroom is beautiful and there are so many unique and amazing things to look at. The sales person that waited on me was very helpful and I ordered an armoire that I got to customize – size, color, and interior.
