Where is the Best Haute Haircut in Austin, Texas?
I was surprised to see the last reviews–MY experience was fantastic–I am PLEASED with both my cut and color. I found Orbit by searching “salons specializing in trendy cuts”. I spoke to the receptionist who was very polite. I was looking to make a drastic change (drastic for me anyway) and I shared my thoughts with her and she quickly and confidently recommended someone for the job. When I got there, the customer service was awesome. They offered me a beverage and my stylist wasn’t running behind which I hate about most places I have had my hair done. Jessica was great. She was friendly and we seemed to have some common personality traits. I consider getting my hair done part of “my time” and I like to relax and enjoy myself. I usually like to read and although we chatted, she also gave me some time to myself to read my book and I appreciated that. Like one of the last reviewers I am pretty particular about my hair. I first met Tanya, who is one of the Barocca stylists, when she was working at a different salon in Austin. I was referred to her when the lady who usually did my hair was unavailable. Tanya gave me a great haircut and I have been going to her ever since. I was a little hesitant to go to Barocca at first, since I was used to seeing Tanya at her previous location. However, the fact of the matter was that Tanya had given me the best haircuts of my life and it would be foolish to go elsewhere. (Whether it is just a bangs trim, or an entire cut, I trust her to give me a look that will compliment my face and personality.) I got to the salon and realized that Barocca has a style all it’s own: from the earthy decor to the scent of fresh coffee and revitalizing salon products. I recommend this salon to anyone who is looking for a fresh and flattering look and a welcoming environment. ((…and who iSN’T looking for that?? :o))
This salon is amazing!!! A friend of mine was tired of hearing me complain about my hair so she recommended that I see her stylist. When I called the salon they informed me that she no longer worked there. The manager proceeded to tell me that they had a new stylist there who recently moved from Los Angeles and assured me that she was extremely talented and could take care of my hair. I don’t concider myself a risk taker, but I decided to try it. The salon was a little hard to find but when I walked in I was stunned by the beautiful decor! I was greeted by the manager and introduced to my stylist Laura. I was impressed with her portfolio and decided to also get color. All I can say is FABULOUS!!!! My highlights are gorgous and I still get compliments on my cut even though its grown out! I have found my new hair haven and next time I am going to get a facial because they use Rhonda Allison products…my favorite!!! You have to try this place you will definately not be dissapo
I met Monica in 1987 when I had a total hair disaster at the hands of a butcher. She saved my life then and has recently done so again. I followed her all over Austin and Cedar Park and Round Rock until she moved to Maryland in the late 90s. That was too far!! I moved, too, out to the Hill Country and had to settle for what I could find. But I moved back to Austin in 2007 and again found someone close and cheap and never busy. Of course, my hair looked like it! One day I decided to check out another salon down the street online and totally by accident came across Monica’s name. I couldn’t believe it. She was back in Austin and so was I. Now I look like my old self because Monica knows who that is. If you want something young and sassy, Monica can give it to you.
