Where is the Best Haute Haircut in Austin, Texas?
Kim Tolbert has been my hair stylist for 9 years. I visit her for foil highlights and lowlights for my blonde hair. I have never gotten a bad haircut or style from her. She is a highly skilled stylist who keeps up to date with the latest trends in her field. The owner of Salon Presly, Michael, runs a great salon. He has been open for over a year and owns this quaint ,little shop in a safe, downtown, Austin neighborhood. I like going here…it is a low stress, eclectic little salon , and the owner takes great pride and cares about every customer who walks in the door. The shop is easy to find and offers a free parking lot in the back. All in all it is a great experience from the time you walk in the door until you leave. That’s why I keep going back again and again! I highly recommend Salon Presly. Pros + Friendly, comfortable , low key, professional environmentCons – ?
I started going to Lisa when she was at a salon off Slaughter and Manchaca. She was the first person who could make my naturally wavey hair work for me. She’s also the very first person I trusted to color my hair. She moved to Salon Bali (still in South Austin) and I moved with her. She was so kind as to continue to provide me with the details of her move. I’ve been to see her at Salon Sirrah when I was working up north. Now that I am working and living in South Austin it has become to time and gas consuming to travel all the way up. If I wasn’t in such a financial crunch right now I would continue to travel north to see her. I reccommend anyone to visit Salon Sirrah and ask for Lisa Lehmann!Pros + Expert with color and precision cutsCons – North location is too far for me to drive
In an effort to make me happy, the schedulers often ask me when I would like to come and somehow make it happen at the last minute. This translates to some pretty tense and rushed staff members trying to get me through an already full schedule. I wish they front desk would be more realistic and say, “Hey, we are full, come in next week”. I could easily handle that. The ultimate result, though was that my color and cut looked great..but I felt sort of “violated” by the rush rush of the service and the fast intense energy of the colorist and stylist. BUT , YES, I got compliments afterwards from folks about my hair as usual.Pros + quality color and cutsCons – taking on too many clients?
With few frills but superb service, this hidden gem is one of the best salons in town. It’s all because of the talent and attitude of every person there. Absolute Tops in my book for any professional in Austin is an unassuming superstar, Jennifer Hill. Superb!!! cuts and Exquisite!!! color that is totally personalized are the norm without attitude or bows to trends but rather true attention to the individual. In addition to Jennifer, everyone here knows how to relate color to skin-tone; cut to hair type, features, and lifestyle: and genuinely give good in-depth professional advice on how to do-it-yourself to get salon perfect results. Product lines for services and for home care are the best available and they help you make selections that are truly tailored for each individual, not for the hyped product of the month. Back to Jennifer, she’s a gem and a patient, quietly intelligent and intuitive superstar who can discuss philosophy as easily as body art and makes her clients look
