Where is the Best Happy Hour in Portland, Oregon?

I’ve been there twice and the first time i had a great expierance. I went with my husband during happy hour and ordered the onion rings and the chicken sandwich. They were big portions and they were only 3 dollars each! They were very tasty too. The restaurant is in a beautiful location with a fabulous view of the river. There is a patio outside which is great on sunny days. The decor inside is chic and attractive as well as most people that dine there. I did not have any problems with the service either, that is, the 1st time i went. The second time i went was in July in 2006. I took a friend from Cali that was visiting and i was so embarrased! We went to the bar and had the absoulute worst service ever! We ordered our drinks at the bar which took forever to be served and then we were never approached after that. We waited and waited. None of the bar tenders acknowledged us what so ever or even tried making eye contact with us.We were so disgusted and after waiting for

Came in for the $2 happy hour, didn’t realize they had dj music on fri and sat nights. Can’t believe how much fun we had even though there weren’t many people in there. Don’t understand why because it was good music and good people. Supposedly they just put in a new dance floor and lights which makes the place look completely different. It’s a lot different than the other meat market clubs and I didn’t have to worry about someone trying to attack me because I was looking at someone the wrong way. The food was awesome, can’t believe how much you can get for $2. The bartender working there definitely had some flare and suggested some interested drinks that my gf and I have never had before. My girl definitely like the ecstasy drinks (big recommendation for your gf to have before heading home to my fellow guys out there) :). No cover charge either big plus.Pros + good drinks and great atmosphereCons – beer too cold

Met some friends for dinner prior to a show last week and we were pleased with our meal and our service. Upon entering olea the hostess greeted us and sat us promptly at a round table for six. This was great as my husband does not like sitting in booths. The server guided us through the menu pointing out some house favorites. Our table sampled some pizzas, the grilled dates, fritto misto sp?, several salads, and entrees. The standouts were the Lamb and the monkfish. Our table was sat early as to make it to the show, but the room filled at about 6:30-7. We loved the interior, the food & the service, would only suggest closing the front door in Portland prior to the temperature hitting the seventies. There was a slight draft

The first time we went to Oba, we had a three-course meal that was pretty good– but the service was inattentive and bordering on rude. The second time we went was amazing. We ordered appetizers (the gazpacho was so unique and refreshing on a hot summer day) and drinks. Their main room was closed for an event, so we sat in the crowded bar. We had no trouble finding a quaint window seat; when we were asked to move to accommodate a 10-top, we did so gladly. When we were asked to move a second time, our $60+ bill (for two people) was taken care of by management! Now that’s what I call good service.Pros + Very original menu, good dinner packagesCons – Lack of parking, erratic waitstaff

I’ve been going here for years. Every meal has been beyond tasty. The wine has affordable options if you aren’t looking to spend a lot and they come in 8oz pours, too. We love the stuffed salmon and crab/artichoke/mushroom sauté. The truffle cake is to die for and we have it EVERY time!Yes, sometime the service is better than others but it’s never been bad.I’m not a fan of the happy hour items and the HH food isn’t as good as the regular menu.Pros + Delicious food, good service, affordable wineCons – Not a good last minute dinner without a reservation, HH
