Where is the Best Happy Hour in Portland, Oregon?
I hosted a MJ themed birthday bash in October for 20 friends and every single one of them loved the Agency. I booked the room two weeks in advance for free and reserved the Wii system for my party. When I arrived I had my own private room, Wii set up, and was able to get my MJ playlist played into my private room. Service was fantastic as my party had its own waitress. The manager was extremely helpful and understanding with our volume issues. My only complaint would be the “club” downstairs. I’ve only been to the Agency three times, but to me it gets extremely crowded and at times you can barely walk to the bar, let alone dance. I highly recommend this establishment if you enjoy sports, Wii, or want to have a private party.Pros + Free Event SpaceCons – I think the downstairs room gets a little too crowded
best bar in beaverton, bar none. the staff is amazing and is fabulous at remembering your face. after the first few times i went there i was a “regular” and because the staff introduced itself i knew most everyone by name. I love their pool tables, probably because i’ve become so accustomed to them they’re my “home base”. the food is incredible bar grub, the french fries are exactly as they should be and everything else i’ve tried has been delicious! the fried mushrooms and pickles…mmmmmm MMM! Seriously…trust me on this one, If you don’t like it, i’ll buy you a drink. lord knows i’m there all the time!!Pros + EverythingCons – sometimes the juke dies when not paid attention to
I’ve been to the Jade (since it’s in my neighborhood) several times over the past few months and have seen it really come into its own. They’ve had a few new and diverse DJs who have added spice and interest. I’ve now brought my mom in and some friends from out of town as well as hang out there just for a local drink by myself. All experiences have been great. Check out DJ Nealie Neal who spins some great music on Thursdays and Saturdays. They have another, different DJ on Tuesdays who is also great and they have a happy hour all day on Tuesday. I like this place, it’s becoming my favorite neighborhood bar. And regarding the other review – I’ve never EVER heard anything close to goth music playing there and I’ve always been served drinks in a friendly manner. Sometimes it pays not to leave a place in a huff after three minutes.
We went to Ciao Vito this past Friday. To my chagrin my friends failed to make a reservation ( that was my buddies job ) no biggie. The host got us in within ten minutes of our arrival ( not bad for 7:30 on a Friday night ) I agree with comments about the poor lighting. Too dark for my taste. My wife pointed out that the interior walls needed painting, hence the poor lighting. Now to the food & service. Drinks took longer to get than our table! Great bread ( I think it was Ken’s ) wish there was more of it. Although we were re-filled ASAP. Food was great though . Good ingredients, local fresh. We had :Beet Salad, Polenta & Spinach, Salad with a Fried egg & sausage & meatballs to start. For entrees we had Linguini with Clams ( 2 orders ) Bolognese, Pork Chop, & spaghetti Agliolio (sp?) .
