Where is the Best Hamburger in Savannah, Georgia?
As a first timer in Savannah, my girlfriend and I just arrived and were hungry. It was about 3:30 so most of the restaurants were closed till 5, but there were many cafe’s open. Unfortuatly we chose B & D Burgers. There were many choices on the menu that looked very good. They were not very busy, I think there were about 10 other people eating there at the time. They had two wait staff and one bartender that also cooked the burgers. It was our choice where to sit so of course we sat promptly but our waitress took a while to come take our order. I also had to get up and go to the bar to get my drink refreshed. The burger cook seemed to be flirting with some girls at the time our burgers were cooking and over cooked mine. I can say it was somewhat tasty but not in my top twenty burger places of all time. My girlfriend said hers was fine so I left it at that and did not complain.Pros + Lots of choicesCons – bad service
My girl and I had the ribeye and a plate of shrimp and crab legs. The shrimp was really fresh but the crab legs were no home run (a little soft). The ribeye is caters toward a blander pallaye and offers nothing adventurous. The veggies are soaked in butter and the condiment abounds with each dish; but the staff is fun and the atmosphere is laidback and friendly. Would I come back? If I were strictly looking for shrimp? Yes. Fried been tomatoes? Yes. Otherwise, just safe fare on vacation. Nothing to write directly home about.
I live in Savannah and I still get lost trying to find this place. Its really good for large groups because you will never have to wait or make reservations. Dont be fooled by the “Beer” part in the name, thats more of a name sake than an actuality, although they do have a select few good beers. If you are looking for something healthy, this isnt the place. Everything is fried and battered and I love it. Its the only place Ive found in savannah that has fried okra. Its cheap eats and you get what you pay for but thats better than most in Savannah. Pros + soul Food, good place for a large groupCons – hard to find
