Where is the Best Hamburger in Providence, Rhode Island?
O’briens Pub LOOKS to be a nice fun pub to have a few drinks & eat at , but in reality there is nothing to enjoy except for its looks. My girlfriend and myself decided to head to O’briens Pub since myself heard from other co-workers at my firehouse that its not a bad place to check out. We arrive there, get seated, and wait…..and wait….. , now it was steady but not busy, didnt look understaffed, finally after 20 minutes our waiter arrived asked what we would like, I ordered a Guinness, my girlfriend orderd a mixed drink, chips & dip for appitizers and a couple of sandwich wraps. The waiter then left, and again waited…. and waited… finaly after about another 20 our drinks FINALY came. My Guinness was horrable, I myself enjoy Guinness very much being half Irish, and knowing how it should tast which is rich and flavorfull. This Guinness was Flat, like drinking flat soda that was in the fridge for two months, my girlfriends drink was no taller then 3″ by 3″, which was lousy also. A
Food; had the fish & chips and a bowl of baked onion soup. Food was ok, baked onion soup was a little salty and we got a pretty big piece of fish but it had a layer of batter that was a little under cooked. I just picked off the batter and ate the fish. Pickles were good. Ambiance; wife and I sat on the pub end because they were busy, normally it is that way. Plenty of room to spread out. Area was lit a little dimly, had the smell of the deodorizer from the restrooms to deal with. Service; waitress did an awesome job, she was right on top of everything. Value; we paid $35 for 2 orders of fish & chips, baked onion soup, soda and 1 beer plus tip. Wife and I have been going here for over 10 years. Food has always been good here this time around was a little below par for them but I will be going back. They make the best comfort food and desserts. Recommend it.
This place really rocks! I loved the atmosphere, reminded me of the 1950’s. I popped in the free nickle they gave me for the jukebox and pushed on the song “respect” by Aretha Franklin and the entire staff went bezerk singing and dancing!.It was a great experience that I strongly reccomend to anyone. Play the song “respect” and see what happens. The food was ok, could have been a little less greasy on the burgers but other than that, we had a great time.Pros + Ambiance, Friendly, Quick serviceCons – long walk from garage, Greasy burgers
Often words cannot properly describe visuals. This is the case of Mudville’s Pub. Upon entering youll be greeted by a young waitress, most likely Irish, who will seat you. Your other option, only for the most social, is to be seated at the horseshoe bar. Locals and tourists mix conversation here with discussion ranging from local events to town gossip. Like any true pub, beer drinkers will be delighted with a glorious selection of beers on draft. The menu is basic, entertaining both those in seek of Traditional pub cuisine and daily specials which can vary from fresh Seafood to an oversized Prime Rib. Prices are on the low end and will give you an opportunity to spend a few more $$ on a pint or two. At Mudville…there is no such thing as “just one.” Social people beware, you may leave with more friends than you began with.Pros + Value, Social, True PubCons – Smoke
The old Lincoln Park is certainly making a go at being a true destination. Still, knowing the previous clientele for which what is now Twin River was known, namely those who are 9.5 million years old and those to whom dental hygiene means little, I did not enter with high hopes. Aside from the same old clientele, Twin River and its selection of restaurants impresses.White Fado does not impress as much as its Twin River roommate, Fred & Steve’s Steakhouse, it was still a good restaurant. Entering the place, I was struck by how large it was. It seemed to continue onward in all directions. The bar is enormous and it had a vast selection of beers that any beer-lover will certainly enjoy. We were seated promptly in a cozy little corner near some wall-mounted knick knacks. The seats were uncomfortable and my girlfriend’s bum found itself falling to sleep on a number of occasions. It also took a very long time for our server to apparently become aware of our existence. Once she did, though
