Where is the Best Hamburger in Nashville, Tennessee?
So I returned to Brown’s on a misty autumn afternoon, eagerly anticipating what would prove to be a mind-relocating culinary experience. Upon my arrival to the heart-warming facade, I was promptly seated by the Maitre’d, Bill. The tables, accented with crimson and taupe checks, reflect a simpler age, an age where burgers and frito pies aren’t demonized for not being organic and containing simple carbs and transfats. If you’re looking for health food, go to Whole Foods you wimp; if you want real American food, Brown’s does it better than anyone. Wonderful burgers, addicting fries, and beer that could have only been chilled in the diminishing Arctic circle, are staples of this family-owned establishment. This is the most American restaurant this side of the Mississippi. If you don’t think so, you are likely French… or a communist.Pros + Ambience, Flo, OwnerCons – I’m not there right now.
On their daily dessert menu, you will almost always find apple, cherry, or blackberry “crunch.” The other regular item is “Hershey’s cake.” I have been told the cake isn’t anything spectacular, and I have been extremely disappointed with the blackberry crunch. To begin, the blackberry crunch has a prominent pineapple flavor (you cannot even taste the blackberries.) Secondly, the dessert is not very thick, meaning you get more vanilla ice cream than blackberry crunch. And last but not least, you may only see three to four small blackberries in the dessert total.Pros + Relaxed atmosphereCons – Food quality
Just moved to Hendersonville from Nashville, and had heard of Woody’s Steakhouse. Never tried it though until moving, a customer of ours lives in Hendersonville and raved on the place. We went Saturday night(01/02/10) and had a wonderful meal. We ordered a appitizer which is something I dont do but the cajun shrimp starter was calling my name. I ordered the porterhouse steak that was the special, and I did not see it on their menu. My lovly date had the filet, both of those steaks were great, cooked perfect and very tender. They also tasted good with alot of flavor. I have not had a steak like that in a while. Now I do like the fact that the restaurant is some where around seventy years old but the old house is realy old. They sure cook a mean steak though. Very Good.Pros + Porterhouse steakCons – oldhouse
