Where is the Best Hamburger in Nashville, Tennessee?
Because I enjoy a periodic lunch at the MetroCenter Cheeseburger Charley’s, I look forward to treating my family to the 21st AV location when we pass by there on Sunday evenings. Our main agenda is milkshakes. But this location’s batting average is 0-for-2. Both times we stopped there, they were out of milkshakes. It seems inconceivable that a restaurant with such a limited (albeit tasty) menu would stiff a customer on an item twice in just a few weeks. Famous Dave’s has great food and generally good service but sometimes the rib tips and other barbecue items seem to have been sitting out for a while. My experience has been that when it comes to bbq, timing often determines how good the food is going to be. The same goes for Chinese buffets. There have been a few times when the meat was tough and had a bit of an off taste, the fries just warm and saturated with oil, and the wings were dry and loose in the skin like they had spent some time under a warmer. Kind of sounds like I don’t care for the place right? Wrong! When the BBQ is good, it’s really good, They simply have the best side salad that I know of in the whole area, and there are a few of their servers that are the personification of professionalism in a restaraunt of this type, and a couple that aren’t, although they seem to cycle out pretty often. Might take a while to get seated, since the mall is a busy place. The atmosphere is great… you can people watch and it feels old-fashioned like it should. The waitresses dance every 30 minutes or so and the lights go down which adds to the great atmosphere! The food is a little pricey for a “soda shop” and all of the sides cost extra (they never come with the main foods).
