I have been wanting to go here forever and never did, till last Saturday. Was there when it opened, which I’m glad I was because this place gets full quick. I had just a basic cheeseburger and OMG – it was amazing! I can’t wait to go back and try the garlic or pizza burger – YUMMY! And our server Katie was amazing and one of the best server’s I’ve ever had, or at least in a long time 🙂 I would recommend this to anyone. I can’t wait to go back!Pros + cheap and good food, great serviceCons – can get busy fast

A friend told me to try a burger from this place so I stopped in tonight. Burgers are a bit dry and Im not a fan of the toasted bun, I prefer them very soft. The fixins lacked a bit too. The onion rings are ok, but too soft and WAY too salty. Milkshake is pretty good, only thing I finished. Porkys is mostly hype…Id honestly rather eat at white castle most of the time.

I used to work as a hostess at Lion’s Tap a couple years ago, and I can tell you that in the two years I was there, I never got sick of their burgers! So delicious! However, hearing from family and friends, and through my own experience, you can get a perfect burger and fries one time, and the next time, it’s not so good… Not for any reason; it just seems to work that way. Kind of unpredictable whether or not it will be good. However, ask for your fries “extra-crispy” if you want them not soggy, and also see if they could add some of their burger “seasoning salt” to the fries! People who don’t work there don’t really know about this trick, and it is SO GOOD!Pros + Fried onions, ALWAYS coupons, Friendly serviceCons – No free refills

The decor is absolutely decadent. I ordered a grilled cheese with a bowl of soup. The cream soup was outstanding. However, the grilled cheese left something to be desired, like melting. A very fresh location with many lunch options. I would highly suggest this place for lunch. Pros + Great SeatingCons – White Bear Lake

Just visiting Sandy?s Tavern for the first time this week, I can already say that Sandy’s may just have the best burgers in the Twin Cities, and I would consider myself to be somewhat of a burger connoisseur. After talking to one of the worker’s there, I learned from him that Sandy’s opened its doors immediately following the prohibition, so suffice it to say, Sandy no longer owns the joint, but one could safely assume that one of his children/grandchildren now run the place. No larger than your regular sized living room, which includes the bar, a few tables and booths, a pool table, dart board, one small television, not to mention decor reminiscent from the 1960’s, Sandy?s is now my new favorite burger joint. Out of the 3 people in my party, which included myself, we all ordered different types of cheeseburgers, one order of large fries, and a pitcher of beer, and we all went away with smiles on our faces, not to mention money to burn. Sorry Lion?s Tap, you just can?t compete with
