The place is decent enough, but not fantastic. We stopped in for a couple of Irish coffees and some appetizers. The appetizers were so-so (fish tocos were good, but ribs were recycled), but the Irish coffees were the worst. It seemed a bit strange that the bartender had to “disappear” to make them – usually they build a drink in front of you so you can see what’s what. Not this time. He takes off to some cubby hole away from the bar and then returns: “Ta dah” – here they are: luke warm and – I swear – no whiskey. So we asked him about it in a nice way and in a nice way he gets us two more on the house. A nice gesture, but two times bad is not good, it’s just double bad. At first we thought maybe their mistaken opinion of Irish coffee might be using Baleys instead of Irish whiskey, but the drinks were too weak even for that. Who knows what they’re doing there, but I suggest you stick to the beers and the tacos. One nice thing is that during happy hour the appetizers are two for o

We spent a birthday dinner at Harry’s before going to a show at the Fine Line. The ambiance was bland and the lighting terrible, as we were seated in the front room by the door, very cold in the winter too.The waitress, obviously not concerned due to the obligatory 15% added to groups of 8 or more, was unattentive. She did not bring salads before the meal, the food was cold and the scallops not cooked through. Since she did not bother to check, and we had a show to get to, so we were left unsatisfied. In addition, despite the gifts and toasting, she didn’t bother to recognize the birthday, which at most restaurants would be obvious. The only positive thing iabout the restaurant s free parking. As for the waitress, she ordered us a cab. Thanks Marcy!Pros + ParkingCons – Service, food

I’ve enjoyed Annie’s Parlour since the 70s while I was a Gopher. Being in Dinkytown, the atmosphere, smell of burgers, big malts and Riversides still makes Annie’s one of our favorite retro-date places. The nostagia and fries add to the experience and the outdoor terrace – weather permitting – is another plus. Long live Annie’s!!! Pros + Gotta try a Riverside with chocolate and banana maltCons – Service can be slow. Be prepared for talking time.

This malt and burger are FANTASTIC! I also love the cherry phosphates and the french fries. Make sure to get the burger with grilled onions. Also, if you like lettuce and tomato, ask for it. This is a good place to bring young children. I will agree that the service MUST be fine tuned; however, my priority is good food and this is great. The host was friendly.Pros + Food, Malts, Kid-friendlyCons – SLOW service, Bad waiting area
